Anyone else ever come home to that anticipated wonderful slow-cooked meal after a day away, and found the plug point was still switched off at the wall?"Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0

My gas cooker has the ignition button right next to the button for the light in the main oven. Every once in a while I smell gas then realise I just put the light on instead of lighting the oven!0

I forgot to take the polystyrene disc off the bottom of the pizza once. It was very small when it came out. I just peeled it off and put the pizza on the plates anyway.
Then there was the time when I was defrosting a chocolate cheesecake (chocolate biscuit with chocolate cheese then chocolate syrup and chocolate chunks - yum!). Anyway, I forgot to press defrost and microwaved it on full for 2 minutes. Came back to find a pool of chocolate goo in the microwave.
I've never been allowed to forget these, either.
The best one was when I forgot to put the top bit on the food processor and gravied the kitchen.0 -

Only I did this with thick, hot soup. It was an impressive mess! I bought a handblender 2 days later....

My goodness Ricki - how long you got !
Senior Moment are my thing!
I:
- make countless loaves in BM without yeast (why!?!)
- put peelings in the fridge and veg in the Kitchen compost bin
- Make stock and forget its there (too many fridges!)
- Have also liquidised the contents over the kitchen! Where the chicken liver pate went to - you just don't want to know!!!
- Put carrots into reheat in the MW and then dished up - forgetting to reheat! Seeing OAPs crunching through semi-raw carrots is cruel!
- Put dish to be cooked in bottom oven then putting on top oven (serves me right for being clever!)
- Probably the worst ever - had a bbq with the men cooking, we had quite a few vegetarians there, so catered accordingly and planned the veggie options really carefully ( I know most veggies hate bbqs!).
I ticked the boxes with two bbqs and cooked separately. I was holed up in the kitchen most of the day.
There was far too much food all round. One of the guys brought a plate in covered with foil and we shared a conversation about having far too much food, so I put the food in the utility room fridge which was the only one with any room in it at the time.
A few hours later, the veggies were moaning about insufficient food! I couldnt' believe it had all gone - so hastily rustled up some emergency salads, rice, etc. Two days later, I found all the quorn sausages, veggie kebabs, etc all bbq'd in the fridge covered in foil! aargh! Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
