    I'd agreed to meet a friend after school for an outdoor swim as well. The rain is here now though and the temperature has drooped.
    Go for the outdoor swim if you can. If it's cooler/raining, nobody else will go, so you'll have it to yourself - and the water feels so much warmer when it's raining. Swimming in the rain is almost magical!

    I used to do a lot of training in outdoor pools (up to October) - and swimming outdoors, in the rain, is the BEST way to swim!

    Agree with Pn about swimming in the rain. I'd swap pool for wild swimming though. :)

    I have spent the last hour opening mail. I've had lots of post from local builders/building firms writing for the oppertunity to bid for the work on our house. How very sensible of them to look at planning apps and approach people.

    The realist in me says you might need to read/write Welsh.

    Mind you, not too hard:

    London - Llondonwy
    Bristol - Y'bristywl
    Sheep* - Canolfan hammden :rotfl:

    *Apologies for this. Very bad taste. Lleaving it though!
    :) Welsh. I quoted your post so you can't change your mind about posting it :)

    It seems no Welsh people either have the skills, or the desire to stay in Wales. Anyway - phone's not rung off the hook ... except some annoying French bird from some top worldwide company begging me to promote their stuff that they'd 'approved' me to sell and I was giving her the usual chat "Yeah, but you're all !!!!!! really aren't you - you keep switching networks and I kept getting rejected... so even though you've now approved me you're not really high on my list"

    When you're a top affiliate, or perceived to be, they chase you... I hate that. I don't want an affiliate manager and them offering me my own unique creatives. I want to dip in, copy/paste their creatives to my ad server and let it stand on its own merits while I do stuff like walk on beaches all day instead of stressing about conversions.

    It's supposed to all be 'fun' for me, not really 'a business'.

    I never knew such things existed! I thought a bath was a bath. I thought you could have a few shapes, a few colours and jets or not ... but that was pretty much it. I still find some free standing ones a bit weird (never actually seen one in real life)

    But those wooden ones were just .... creepy. They looked like Hammer House of Horrors murder scenes

    :) I think they look warm on a cold winter morning. But they certainly don't look ''British'' in taste. :)

    This is the best one, I thought I'd posted it here before:

    By the way, that''s a really bad photo montage. Imagine how much soap you'd need to fill that dispenser!

    I can't see a dispenser - my screen is small, dark and dusty. I thought you bought them in Asda ready filled and plonked them on the side. I've never seen a soap dispenser outside of a public convenience... how common :)

    They just look weird to me - and I wonder where the plumbing goes. If I got one I'd end up with Bodgit Bob fitting it and there'd be an array of cr4ppy welded pipes and overflows all over the place

    I'm not a potato expert, but I know it's not necessary for spuds to flower in order to produce tubers. Presumably, they'd all flower, given time, and if the blight didn't get them first.

    Best thing is to dig alongside & see what you've got, if you're worried about harvest.

    My first Gardeners' Delight toms were ready on 1st July, but my special early toms started to ripen on 9th June, so that was a worthwhile experiment. But the best news is that the early ones, despite looking straggly and unwell, actually taste better IMO. :)

    Blooming courgettes are slow though. First decent one today. That won't happen next year when my 42'x24' polytunnel is functioning!

    What sort of toms were the special early ones?

    Wouldn't the water get cold quickly with a copper bath? Copper is a great heat conductor.

    I think someone else has pointed out that copper stains.

    I stopped using Outlook on my PC when it started getting too huge ... and then over time a few PCs broke and I couldn't get at it anymore. I moved to using gmail for everything just so it's not down to me to store/be able to access my emails.

    gmail's quicker at searching too :)

    I've been "thin client" or "in the cloud" as it it now called, since 1998.
    Oh the arguments I had with other family members who did a course on how to use Outlook Express.

    It is the spam that usually makes them see sense.

    I had a feeling that canolfan hamdden had something to do with running fast.................?

    Revealing a picture

    Hidden underneath individual tiles, is a picture of an enlarged item which could be seen in one of the buildings in town.

    white board marker = ysgol (school)
    piece of plaster = ysbyty (hospital)
    cheque = banc (bank)
    gym equipment - canolfan hamdden (leisure centre)
    popcorn = sinema (cinema)
    swimming trunks = pwll nofio (swimming pool)
    bottle of tomato sauce = archfarchnad (supermarket)
    book = llyfrgell (library)
    cross = eglwys (church)
    stamp = swyddfa’r post (post office)
    ====================================================================================

    Buildings in Town

    Game can be played as a whole class or as two or more teams, with the teams challenging each other to ask the question correctly in order to reveal the picture and to guess which question is 'hidden' beneath the buildings. Learners can guess what building the enlarge picture is linked to by asking the relevant question. e.g. popcorn = sinema (cinema) – Ydy e’n mynd i’r sinema?
    Two teams could challenge each other and bonus points could be given for guessing the hidden question correctly, (and points could be taken away for guessing the hidden question incorrectly).

    I also like to sit on the edge of a bath to wash my feet.... I doubt you could do that easily with this array of posh tubs. Where do you lot wash your feet when you've come in from a hot, sandy beach and have sand all in your crocs and up to your knees?

    Edge of the bath's perfect for that.

    And too late. Having paid for a professional to deal with this stuff we're having him interview the builders. Its like being REALLY posh and never getting one's own hands dirty. I have a little man for that. :rotfl: He started researching months ago and already has the shortlist of people we're inviting to bid. Not very MSE though. We couldn't have afforded him with out calling in a favour.
