there's just one thing i hate

    being ill

compounded by being ill and having a friend stay :(

    Oh dear :(

I recommend legal drugs and alcohol. Yes I know you shouldn't combine, but it works :o

You can get really cheap train fares into London straight from WLV into Euston. As little as £7 I think on Virgin if you pick the right train.

It's £5 for me just into Birmingham if I pick the wrong station.

Yeah, last October we visited london & got a £7 one way, & £10 the way back with Virgin. Beats faffing about with congestion charge and all the what not...
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Rum/Whisky mixed with Lemsip works a treat. As long as you don't have to attempt to drive anywhere :rotfl:

There's something wrong but strangely comforting about drinking rum at 10am when you're ill :o

Someone did suggest to me that potato peelings are unlikely to produce potatoes. Is this correct? As all I have in the soil was peelings. If they won't produce, then they're weeds...:o

No, it's actually quite likely to produce potatoes if your peels have 'eyes' on them.

    Here's a pic for educational purposes :)

lir candles in the bath has been done many a time (I usually use the same one(s) I may be eating with).

That said, you're on. Both PN & yourself treat yourself to a quality tray of chips n gravy from a decent chippy, & post your reviews here, & I'll do the book in the bath business & do likewise.

Do you think it would work with a nice wine jus? They thing is I rarely make gravy (although I love, love, love gravy and have a bit of a reputation in the family of making THE best gravies) and I just have never seen it as an option locally, though honestly, I don't frequent many chippies.

I think a photo is a good idea. ;) If you like I'll send you some yummy bubble bath (although any old stuff does for a true experience I feel you should do this well, I like ) and your candle should be scented, the window open. If its raining outside all the better. :)

PN, how short are you? I could always do with a bigger bath to read in, my knees sometimes get cold, depending on chosen position, (most frequent is lying on back, knees bent and on end of bath) and my mother very occasionally reads in the bath and she just grazes five feet.

we're looking at baths a bit and dh really wants a copper one, but....I don't like the sitting up postion, and neither would the cats. I think a sitty up bath would be infinitely lesser of a sensory indulgence.

Apparently there's a shortage.... of people like me. Apparently a well known recruitment agency cannot find another person like me to put forward for a 6 month placement. Although it turns out it's in Wales and he did say nobody wants to go there....

So I just had to revamp my CV. I'm sure it's an interview, if offered, I'd come 2nd at though, so - playing hardball - if invited for interview I might request expenses be paid for that. Maybe 400 miles, a bridge toll and a cheap hotel for a claim of £100 is reasonable. After all, I am not the person with a shortage of people like me am I?

Rate is bl00dy shedloads. BL00DY shedloads. Which might be negotiated down to what I was getting in 2000... which was BL00DY shedloads. I'd seriously wipe the floor with most of you income-wise if I got it (er, well, a few of you).

However .... the realist/pessimist in me says: [1] they won't want to interview you, they'll have other agencies onto the job who will have lots of people in Wales with the skills. [2] they will decide at interview that I'm not quite what they wanted/expected.

Could I do the job? Yes.
Could I get them to think that? Experience proves not.

    :)

Wouldn't the water get cold quickly with a copper bath? Copper is a great heat conductor.

it would be great if the pda part can sync with outlook on my PC.
I stopped using Outlook on my PC when it started getting too huge ... and then over time a few PCs broke and I couldn't get at it anymore. I moved to using gmail for everything just so it's not down to me to store/be able to access my emails.

gmail's quicker at searching too :)

I generally find baths are just a little too small for me to lie down properly in to be comfortable. And I ain't tall!:o
I'm about 5' though .. and maybe 3-6" difference would make all the difference between being able to reach the tap end with my feet, or not. I've also got short legs for my frame.

Enough painkillers to stop a small animal and I'm still awake.

There's no more drugs left OTC so i'm tired and cranky.
