Back in the 70s, in the farmhouse where I rented a flat, they kept bags of coal and logs in the bath.
I think we may be going a similar way, though in our case it's orchids.0 -
Can I just ask for some advice please? What I really want to buy is an ebook reader combined with a PDA. I want an e-ink type of screen, and it would be great if the pda part can sync with outlook on my PC. Internet access is not very important, but nice. Don't want a phone.
Essentially, I want a Kindle with calendar and contacts, but I can't track down anything that does this. Do you wise people know if I can find this at all?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Davsnave, while your about, can I ask your view on the potatoes query I posted a few posts back please? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0

I'm not a potato expert, but I know it's not necessary for spuds to flower in order to produce tubers. Presumably, they'd all flower, given time, and if the blight didn't get them first.
Best thing is to dig alongside & see what you've got, if you're worried about harvest.
My first Gardeners' Delight toms were ready on 1st July, but my special early toms started to ripen on 9th June, so that was a worthwhile experiment. But the best news is that the early ones, despite looking straggly and unwell, actually taste better IMO.
Blooming courgettes are slow though. First decent one today. That won't happen next year when my 42'x24' polytunnel is functioning!0 -
Yes, according to the variety, potatoes will flower a lot, flower a bit or not flower at all.
This has no effect whatsoever on the potatoes themselves... so as long as your plant is well, no need to worry if there's no flowers.0 -

lir candles in the bath has been done many a time (I usually use the same one(s) I may be eating with).
That said, you're on. Both PN & yourself treat yourself to a quality tray of chips n gravy from a decent chippy, & post your reviews here, & I'll do the book in the bath business & do likewise.
We want pictures! :rotfl:Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'd be a possible, as it'd depend on circs/income at the time. Plus (going into PN mode) London prices!
You can get really cheap train fares into London straight from WLV into Euston. As little as £7 I think on Virgin if you pick the right train.
It's £5 for me just into Birmingham if I pick the wrong station.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks both.
Someone did suggest to me that potato peelings are unlikely to produce potatoes. Is this correct? As all I have in the soil was peelings. If they won't produce, then they're weeds...:oIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
