She is pleased. I was mostly doing it to keep myself awake. It worked too as I'm mostly over the jet lag in a day although I woke up at 5.30am.
Viacal is amazing for removing limescale. Forget using anything else. It just fizzes off. If you get going with it after lunch you'll have your feet up in the garden with a Pimms before you know it!
I might get some viacal while I'm out, its such a horrid job0 -
Couple of queries folks. Firstly, my bean flowers are all white. I thought they should be red?
Also, do potatoes have to flower?
I also have a conundrum. You may recall that I put the contets of a composter where I ended up planting the beans & peas. However in the compost were potato peelings, which have sprouted. Now I like the idea of free spuds, however they may be adversely affecting the beans & peas. Is there anything I can do? If I move the peas, will they survive? Can I cut back the potato plants?
Help! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
There are quite a few potato varieties that don't flower.
If you cut back the potato plants that you grew by accident to 5" tall, removing the folliage they will continue to grow underground for about 4-5 weeks. The trouble is you might have introduced disease(s) so I'd be inclined to try to dig them up in case they do in the rest of your crop.
I can't think of any reason why they'd adversely affect the peas etc. You might find you get a lower yield as they will compete for food and water like any other weed.0 -
Was there a suggestion of a 'nice' beers while our resident economist is in town?I think....0

I'm wondering whether it is worth putting in a bid....It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I might be up for something on Saturday 9th in the afternoon. Will have Generalissimos in tow though. They'll be ok if they can stretch their legs a bit and get a lemonade. They're a bit little for beer. They are quite unannoying as kids go.0 -
That would be my DD1's birthday party plus our street party rolled in to one day
But if you did make it to St Albans there would be lots to join in with here for you and the kids!

Another question for folks (which doesn't mean I'm done with answers for the previous ones!)
Do we prefer paperback books or hardback books? I'm wondering if my personal preference for hardbacks is snobby? I'm going to buy a self published book this week, & have the option. The price difference is circa £13, but I do find hardback books nicer for some reasons. So I thought I'd ask your opinions...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I tend to think of books (well fiction anyway) as being a read once and then put on the shelf before taking to charity shop sort of item so I like a format that is easy to use, low value in case of damage and not 'over-engineered' for the task at hand.I think....0

Seriously chaps, drinks sound fab, (I can't make the date posed however I try to, I'd love to meet my economics hero and someone who I think is just a wonderful sounding guy) but seriously discuss it in pms. And don't talk about dwarves in such discussions.0
