We're going to Istanbul next weekend for a wedding - not a lot of choice, really, as OH is the best man. But because it's still term-time, we can't go at cheaper times or make a longer holiday of it - out on Friday evening, back on Sunday evening.
You should have married a bloke who lived on the council estate down the road ... wouldn't be doing all that jetsetting malarky then.

    :)

'olidaymakers next door are bl00dy noisy. There's no music there, nor seats outside... but this lot were prepared for any national disaster as they've brought their own stereo and folding chairs and kids' paddling pools to last a lifetime. So they like playing the music inside, with the door open, while they sit in the garden shouting back to whoever's in the house.

And it's all under my (previously open) window.

And I'm trying to think/read/work here.

You don't often expect Israelis to have lots of mates in Turkey, though (-:

This is a friend of OH's from primary school onwards, from Oxfordshire. But the girl he's marrying is Turkish.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

I Made It To The UK!!!!!

Me, 2 Generalissimos and no Mrs Generali. 24 hour journey: 22 in the air, 1.5 refueling in Honkers, 30 minutes on the ground at Heathrow waiting for the unions to turn up to open the doors to the plane (seriously!).

The kids were amazingly good, wonderful. No shouting or significant arguing. In fact all the kids on the plane were great. A couple of babies were crying but that's what babies do! I'm sure I sobbed when I was a Generalisimette and I'm sure my great grand-Generalissimini will too.

Oh I found a Nikon D90 waiting for me upon arrival in the UK at Chez Maman. Great news; I've taken some lovely shots of the kids already.
Sorry, "mustard mitt" is "must admit"

    Otto Korrekt.

Anyway, I'm shattered. I spent a couple of hours on Mama Gen's garden, had a string of visitors and feel like I've not slept since 1st July 1973. G'night Poms &c..

I landed in my business with the thought that I can do paperwork, so it can't be that difficult, but I find you never know if there are whole areas of stuff that you don't know about that would make life a lot easier.

With a no marketing need (supply overseas and restricted from selling in the UK), some things I don't need.

If I'd discovered the ins and outs of forward foreign exchange contracts a few years and how to deal with banks:mad: and rude civil servants supposedly running helplines, it would have been a lot easier. and warehouse protocol and language.

The other hard thing is at many points you have to do absolutley everything including the stuff you are a bit rubbish at (or have no natural gift for) so those tasks are much harder work and I never felt I did some that well.....more learnt them and then got by.

Also, if I knew then what I know now I probably would never have done it either.
If you ever need some proper swimmers for an all action/water photo shoot .... and fancy a trip down this way on expenses (have a holiday, bill it as work expenses), I've got some contacts.

Funny you should say that as it came up with the photgrapher we use. I think he said it is really expensive as you need special cameras and so on.
However any excuse to visit down your way would be welcome...haven't been there for years and love it.

Have you noticed that swimsuits are never photographed in the water/in use for what they are intended for?

The big companies could afford the speacial camera and so on too....must be a good reason for it though but can't think what it would be. Underwater swimming pictures are great especially when all the hair is loose.....ooooh.. and you could have tropcal fish swimming about too. Feeling an idea brewing.:D

He was making it sound hard :)
Any proper, professional photographer should know what they're doing.

If you ever do want a pro water shoot down here, with actual proper models/photographers, I've got some of the best photo contacts for that. Proper pros who specialise in that whole rich/lifestyle/hotties thing. "your sort of people" as it were :)

    Not yokels.

In fact, I'll PM you it anyway. Does underwater stuff too.

:rotfl::rotfl:I will PM you tomo as definately interested in something like this. I could get even them swimming with local fish.......which are what in Cornwall? Mackerel I guess....or lots of sprats. Only kidding.:D
Or just under the surface would be good with all the wavy bits above and the sun coming through.....and a bit of weed (seaweed ) and stuff.

My ''sort of people'' are all sorts of people :) I am from a grim SE London suburb afterall.

Despite having never heard of it it turns out it is only 15 mins or less from here, will easily be able to make it before the bride - would you like me to save you a seat? Which side of the church? Don't worry I will be fine - if you have seen the film 'Wedding Crashers' you will know I can pull it off.

It was okay. We got there 30 minutes late, but that was fine because they hadn't kicked off yet.

The groom was standing there all ready, but the bride wasn't, cos she had a last minute hitch.

So, in fact, we were early. And a few of the guests even arrived after us. It was a lovely affair outside in the grounds, so we all enjoyed ourselves in the sunshine waiting for the bride to unhitch.

And they couldn't start anyway, because the bride's grandmother and uncle had driven North up the M1 to Watford and knew they needed to then take the A41 to Hemel. Only the A41 goes both North and South, and they drove back to London on the scenic route.

Anyway, they started the service without gran, and she did arrive in time for the kill, so to speak. So, that was all very lovely, actually. BTW, getting married is the easy bit.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
