I just logged in after being awol and realised I forgot to quote this fab post too.
I am going to get in touch with the embassy trade bit (as better than a google) and see what's what as this is a good seed to work on.
Thanks Viva
You are welcome, I hope its useful. They said something along the lines of "the cheap Chinese imports don't get that with swimwear its all about the cut and the stitching". That stuck in my mind. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

It's a hard product to get right and anyone who has owned a low cost swimsuiit and had a super duper one can tell the difference after a few wearings/swimming sessions.
I bought a bikini from a cheap high st chain and the fit if the top was amazing (the bottoms were dire but I matched it up with some basic posh ones I have) until I dived into the pool and the water sloshed through the top and the whole thing ended up aeround my waist by the time I surfaced. I still wore it for a few sitting on beach sessions until the underwire poked through it and then the back clasp snapped.
I think it cost about £1 per wear in the end.0 -
The ones I have come across over the years (often govt funded type things) had very able people in them but they had very little experience on the ground or in a similar small set up so the advice often offered was very academic and didn't translate well to the situations or challenges a lot of small creative producers find themselves in or up against.
Strangely that's exactly how I feel about my MBA. It's great knowing how to be a manager in a multinational company, but it tells you absolutely nothing about how to run a small business. I can market, I can do accounts, heck I can have really long lunches while "strategising" but they don't teach you about how to run a VAT account, the best forms of business for your situation, getting the right insurances, all that basic stuff you need to know. More should be done at this level IMO, particularly in the creative industries because we have a natural competitive advantage that needs more nurturing. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? They have specified in their wills in that respect thankfully....they did at least go to a solicitor to have it drawn up and he pointed out the potential pitfalls of an incomplete or unclear will.
Brilliant day out and having our own chairs worked a lot better, eldest even came up to join us later on...a real rare event.
Hope the morning's OK, Sue, and you aren't too sore. And it sounds as if you had a great day!
"The home-written will is the toast of the Chancery Bar"...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Mustard Mitt, I've always bought my swimming costumes from M & S. I know they aren't a style icon, but they fit well, wash well, and last (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Off to sleep in a min but good luck for Monday Viv.
Wonder if Gen is on home ground yet?
I need to hang out here more too as we fell off the MSE bandwagon again last night........friend came up to visit, went to centre, went out, got chatting and lost track of time so missed the last tube home and had to get a cab back. Couldn've fed us all for a week that fare. 0-0.
Went back today and did a bit of sale shopping too...there are some big markdowns out there this season...haven't noticed this many for a while (on the good stuff that is)
Night all.0 -

I have an old M+S one somewhere and it has kept it's shape. I find Speedo last the best for chlorine swimming but they are all so sporty/serious.

Sorry, "mustard mitt" is "must admit"...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Thanks for the explanation ndg. I had it in my head it must be one of those exfoliating gloves that you supposedly should use to get gorgeous glowing skin before putting your bikini on.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
