Thinks: I must make sure not to die until I have taken my own advice - my will has a clause about "my infant children" - they are in their 30's now!

My Mama said recently that my parents' wills still appointed my grandmother as the guardian of their 4 minor children. Granny died in 2003, and the youngest of us is now 26....
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

My parents' wills are simple: House/cash, divide by the number of children in equal shares. None of us wants their tat.

It's nowhere near IHT even if there were just one of them.... even if I popped my clogs right now and they went tomorrow it's nowhere near IHT. So nobody's had to worry about that.

And - I figure all the house funds will have been spent on good care for them once I can get near enough to the phone to book them in :)

How are they doing today, Pastures?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Our wills are difficult. With no kids our only concern for our responsibility is the critters. I have nieces and we both have siblings. TBH we have both decided we don't want to leave cash to siblings. We're not godparents for anyone.....

You can stick my name down if you want. Under that "Random Act of Kindness" stuff that goes on.

My parents have wills and I am the executor....bit daunting to be honest but they chose me as I am the sensible one and the one who can take a step back and not become over emotional, oh and be forceful, stubborn and determined (their words), my siblings are more like lost sheep in a crisis. Their wishes is for everything to be split equally between the three 'children' (we can hardly be called children now, my younger sister is 35!) and that the house is to be sold and not one of us move in and buy the others out to make sure it stays fair.

We are off out today, an all day gig at a local pub just up the road....the physio had banned me from going to these events as it really beggered me up last year but I am going to get around some of the problems by taking a couple of my own patio chairs up there so that there is a supportive chair to sit in for my back (apparently picnic benches and the ground are not great for me). We are really looking forward to it and the weather is not too bad...not too hot, a little cloud cover and dry.

Think the walk there is going to be fun, it is going to have to be a double crutch day as the distance is further than I can manage now but I am determined I am going to have a half or two over the course of the day, so taking the car is out....so we have allowed ourselves 30 minutes to get there, normal walking pace would take approx 10 minutes at the outside.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Hope you have a great day out, Sue. We all think you're amazing.

(Oh, and I hope your parents' wills specify what happens if one of your siblings predeceases them!)

I do not like this heavy weather. Its making me feel queasy. Plus the fact every bug in the garden is following me everywhere. DH got the giggles because I had my own personal swarm of flies in the back garden....maybe its my body moisturiser or something? But its bloody horrendous. We're hot and a little grumpy. I think we might have ''heat stroke'' and we're considering going to tesco to buy a paddling pool. We also considered getting in Lake Cake..but its very green, looks a bit viscous and not sure its safe.
