What was the outcome? Success, I very much hope.

If the bloody thing was still missing I wouldn't be posting on here!

Am trying to relax a little. Tomorrow is going to be a stressful 24 hours.

If you go into places like Poundland or stationery shops, you can pick up cheap packs of 4 coloured plastic envelopes with a pepper. They're great for keeping important stuff in as they're distinctive and see through .... unless you then put them in another bag, inside a suitcase, at the back of the wardrobe, in the spare bedroom ... where you've since piled up all the stuff from the other spare room you're decorating.

    That was basically the problem.

I keep my passport with my degree certificate and banking exam results, a throwback to my consulting days when I'd regularly need all three.

The envelope is very distinctive, A4 with a card back and a big sticker from my uni on it along with my mum's address. That doesn't help when the envelope is inside a bag at the bottom of a box that is full of magazines!

It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Same name as my mother :)

Lydia only PM'd her first name, before everyone thinks LydiaJ is my mother.

I've just googled myself. I get someone on twitter and a norwegian folk singer and there is 3 people with my name in the US white pages.

I'm really upset now, because I thought Lydia was really Lydia's name.

I googled my own name, and nearly all the entries on the first few pages are actually about me. That cheered me up a bit. :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

My married name is pretty commonplace so there are lots with the same name combo as me. My maiden name is something else though. I can't find anyone alive with the same name as me, but plenty of dead Americans c17-1800. So it would appear that my Mum not only named me after a pet dog, but a very old pet dog.

I start at my new place of work on Monday, which to clarify, isn't a town (afaik) that any of the nice people live in. I'm just a bit closer, heaven help you all.
