International relations or something related. Not quite the same as his degree, but still within the social sciences faculty, same uni - so he reckons he has a good chance of getting in, even at this late stage. Its a taught masters rather than research and the blurb he sent me shows it has reasonable job prospects at the end of it, so I'm quite supportive.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. As the weather was so poo, we went to a slightly pretentious plant and craft fayre thingy at Coombe Trenchard, which is an Arts & Crafts style house & garden near Okehampton. It was quite cheering to see so many other people being blown about and soaked.:) People on the stalls kept saying "Well, at least it's not as bad as yesterday!" so clearly, yesterday was bad.
Eventually, things brightened up, so I gave DW and her friend the slip and set off as I usually do when visiting these little estates, to find the bits they don't mean you to see. Having Google-Earthed hurriedly before we left, I made my way down the stream towards the lake, but all I found was a field of cows. I couldn't even see the water.Thwarted, I struck out in a different direction to see if the walled garden would give up its secrets instead, but there was only a wood and many brambles.....How could all these features disappear?
Back at home my mystery is solved. I aerial eyeballed the wrong blooming mansion. The one next door is much larger and has all the features I was looking for.:o

I have to go out .... Father's Day .... needs a card buying ... and a present (god knows what! So that means booze).

So upper nursery is what we call reception, your reception we call year 1 and your transition is our year 2. Then we all jump to juniors and we carry on with year 3, but you probably have a different name.
My secondary school had Lower IV, Middle IV, Upper IV, Lower V, Upper V, Lower VI and Upper VI.
My brother's was stranger - it definitely involved a "Remove" at one point....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Is he at SOAS?
I did a taught masters, an LLM - and I don't regret it at all....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Blame the "Add On Effect."
I'm sure there was never a Father's Day when I was a lad.0 -

No a red brick "oop north", couldn't go to a London Uni or I would suggest he lived at home, particularly when there are no student loans for masters.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My schools had Infants 1,2 & 3, followed by juniors 1,2, 3 & 4, followed by secondary 1-5 + two years in 6th form.
Now it seems to be reception followed by years 1 to 13 with 12 & 13 denoted as the sixth form.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Father and FIL got cards from an online place that incorporated their uploaded pictures. They were both massively impressed that such a thing could be done. Easiest cards ever as I got them posted direct, so didn't have to faff around with stamps and posting.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. urgh. Today hasn't been good. dog-dog has been at emergency vets having emergency treatment from running around and breaking a bone. Vet was mightily impressed at how good she was (greys aren't known to be stoic dogs but mine was champion). Now we have to work out how to get her in/out for the loo with a cast on and how to keep her still for the rest of summer.
Poor dog-dog.
