DDs just get endless mini packets of sweets to which we rebel and send in the small packets of raisins and other dried fruit - it doesn't seem to earn kudos points with the other children though - not sure what the parents think. We could go for home baking but I suspect we would not be thanked for starting a trend - plus of course the whole allergy risk thing. 6 isn't reception.I think....0

Definitely liking the new twenty ten template that's available with Wordpress 3.1.x
Now spending many hours porting over all my cr4ppy templates to that one as it's at least a standard format I can work with.
Once you've worked out where to stick stuff in the loops... and I've still got 3 slots in the footer area to think about, leaving those empty for now.
New directory script I bought 2 weeks ago is getting slowly populated with the good stuff, over 90 items in that so far... it doesn't do what I needed it to, but it's doing something else that's handy
Best rss aggregators I could find ... working well
But, it is never-ending.... I've got sites half built all over the place ... feeling more in control now, now that I have:
- ad server serving most ads
- my new script
- finally a basic template I can jiggle with minimum effort
- password software to keep all my notes/links in
- spreadsheet of 1000 lines listing all my ad zones/sizes/locations
So that's about 30-35 domains, across 3+ hosts, 850 passwords, 1000 ad slot areas .... and 10,000 great ideas being juggled into some form of coherence. I figure it'll just take a year to get to where I want things to be
I probably 'serve' over 1,000,000 ads per year... so not small cheese.0 -
Urgh, sorting through junk and stuff we've forgotten about or my parents have given us and stuff I put aside. so much junk. we seem to have enough hozelock fittings to supply the county. For a decade. The irony is we have no outside tap yet and the hozelock one designed for kitchen taps (of which we have four fittings) pop off so.....
another question....how much labour cost would removing a ceiling that has to be removed be likely to save us? Is it worth doing?0 -

First thing to check is that there is no asbestos!
Its only labour with a hammer, clearing up the rubbish that falls out, down and all over you and whatever is underneath.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. According to dentists, raisins are worse than sugar.6 isn't reception.
I also thought that. Reception is the year that you have your 5th birthday and Year 1 the year you have your 6th birthday. oR maybe Hertfordshire is different to the rest of the country!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. . 6 isn't reception.
It is at Isaac's school - last year he was in Upper Nursery, this year he's in Reception, next year he's in Transition, I think....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Some schools do try and be different. My son's year 1 teacher called the maths groups, apples, oranges and pears, so no-one would feel left out by not being in the top set. It took the kids 5 minutes to work out the code just by who was in what set.
One local secondary school insisted on calling their youngest year year 1 instead of 7; just as it was in my day. At least that made sense of having a sixth form rather than a "year 12 & 13 form" which would be more accurate.
So upper nursery is what we call reception, your reception we call year 1 and your transition is our year 2. Then we all jump to juniors and we carry on with year 3, but you probably have a different name.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. OH has gone to retrieve son from year 16
also known as end of uni. I keep messaging him every hour with instructions to dump as much as possible, rather than bring all the carp home.
Two months ago he was going to travel the world, last month he was talking of going back to China (he spent a month on a uni exchange scheme there over Easter), this month he is talking of going back to uni to do a masters. No mention of WORK yetI'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. That bank that failed, Southsea>?
All caused by bats! Tiny bank had lent against a block of flats being built that when sold would clear all the banks debts. Then someone relevant saw a bat flying out of the building site. Work was halted for months while they did bat surveys, only to find no bats. But by then the property market had collapsed and the designed apartments at £210k each didn't sell and the bank failed.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
