not quite the same, but this went down like a sandwich filled with excrement. didn't get overturned though.

amusingly, steen was running another fraud during the trial, and subsequently was found guilty of that, getting another 3 years on top.

The woman was an utter moron. SRSLY, what's WRONG with people these days? Complete moron.... apart from anything else, would you WANT somebody involved in shennanigans to be part of your Facebook friends list??? I think not.
I guess, on the positive side, she didn't use a ouija board to decide whether the defendant was guilty.
You know, the scary thing about trial by jury is you are getting tried by the people who are too stupid to work out a way of getting out of it.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

H did it once and said the other jurors were all morons. I heard the a saying that you only do jury service if you're too stupid to get out of it as well.
I tried to be a magistrate once. I got to second interview but they didn't have me. I must have screwed up badly or they're not quite as eager for young blood as they say they are.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

It's a bit like President... now, the President of a country or a company might be quite important .... but when you end up with President of the Litter Picking Group, it's meaningless, but they've bigged it up.
And I think this has happened to the word Diploma over the years.
I wouldn't dismiss them so quickly as it all depends on who the tutor is. Could be a real bright spark just starting out in education.
I did 3 years (split over 2yr and 1 yr course) many years back which is equivalent to a degree but I am sure both had dip at the end of them (I can't remember what they were).
They were new courses at the time and more vocational than arty and I had amazing tutors, one of whom I am still in touch with who has his own course now at the top college in my field.
It sounding 'easy' ...is that a good enough reason to do it? If you feel interested in the subject, have the time to attend and ignore the 'dip' tag, then go for it and take it at face value....could be really good but you won't know that until you are halfway into it.
So, if it's rubbish, just leave at that point after giving it a chance.PasturesNew wrote: »Done that now... let's wait for the rejection... the hoops to be put out.
tut tut...don't be so negThere's no reason to be rejected at this point unless massively oversubscribed....and then it'll be a random selection, nor personal to you.

Is it wrong to be excited to be going to work on Sunday to reduce the workload?0

I quite like working at the weekends, depending on what I'm doing. A lot of my job is reviewing some horrible fraudsters' email accounts which is usually quite a bit more interesting than the junk on tv. I'm too busy to do it at the moment as I'm flat out but when I'm a bit less busy I'll often put in half a day on the weekend just so I can !!!! about all day on Monday when I'm supposed to be working. Odd- but works for me.0

I used to attend murder mysteries with friends and family, some would examine and debate all the evidence. My dad would have a laugh and joke, and proceed to correctly identify the guilty person without having seen any evidence.
OK, it's not quite Jury service. But there's a moral in their somewhere.0 -

not at all....
I am going to be in this weekend too (but no alarm Saturday, just wake up at 10am probably) as have a fresh deadline for next weds am that came out of the blue tonight. Work is only 10 mins drive away.
........ but, the kids are grown up and will be out and about, OH and I spend every day together at work anyway and there's no family/friends events on this coming one so my options are clean the house/do the washing/ cook nice things/ potter about in garden/ read sunday papers or go in and create something new for Autumn (in complete silence and uninterrupted) to flog on weds am.
Doesn't feel like work at the weekends, more like a demanding hobby.:)0
