I assumed 1984's post was about the juror. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

On a more cheerful note, our builders have been busy - our jasmine-white-and-delft-china scheme is already being implemented upstairs in our new flat:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

And this is the "framed" bit of our wall, although the frame's not there yet:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

In which case, I think we're all speaking with one voice - she's a silly cow....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Stop it. That's foul, and I find it deeply offensive. It's possible that she got what she consented to. It's also possible that she got what no woman deserves. Ever. We were asked if we considered the evidence to be sufficient to say which, and our verdict indicates that we didn't. The question of what she deserved wasn't at issue, and nobody suggested anything other than the truth, which is that she deserved to have her giving or witholding of consent respected.
ETA I posted this assuming that you were referring to the woman whose alleged rape was the subject of the trial I mentioned, and if that was what you meant then I stand by it. If in fact you meant the moron facebook juror, then I take it all back and agree with you entirely.

It's easily done. Somebody's post appears immediately after yours, and you think they're responding to what you said. After all, NDG thought I was saying she was offensive, which was the last thing I intended. Can we delete all that misunderstanding please?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
