It is like getting on a bus nowadays - with all the blimmin phones with awful music coming out of really tinny speakers (which makes the drivel sound worse). I mean, since when were nightclubs quieter than bus journeys? I wish I could do the vulcan death grip:

the burger thing annoys me the most, because it ends up with the whole carriage stinking of fast food. it makes me feel sick sometimes, especially when people sit right next to you. i have taken to sitting in the ailse seat and refusing to move into the window seat for anyone carrying burger king or mcdonalds.
do people still do that on buses? it used to be horrendous when mobile phones capable of playing music first came out, but now that everyone has got at least three ipods it seems to have stopped where i am. now you just get teenagers with ipods, listening to music through headphones, and holding a conversation with each other over the top of it...
the only solution i can think of is giving everyone with an IQ over 80 a bolt gun and a licence to kill.0 -
Really annoyed. You just can't go on courses these days. Last year I booked a short-course, Uni level, it was cancelled at the last minute as there weren't enough people doing it. So I booked another - there were 3-4 of us on it.
Months ago I booked something for this Saturday, just had a call - I'm the only one enrolled, so it's cancelled - if they'd given me a hint this might happen I could have filled that for them easily enough, too late now (I did offer).
Last week I went to my Tuesday class, it's now merged with the Thursday class so come back Thursday.
Another college I specifically booked a Friday course, double-checked it and booked it the day before the original start date (which was changed as that was the wedding day), turned up on Friday to be told it was changed to Thursdays, but nobody'd let me know, so I missed 1 out of a total of 6, very annoying.
It's annoying when you have so few courses available, you're doing a 50 mile round trip for 2 hours once a week, then with months of pre-planning they still don't work out right.0 -
On topic....
had a look at house prices round where I was before buying and they're looking sickly. My parents are sincerely unlikely to get anywhere like what they wanted for their place now I think they'll have to consider some alternative to funding their separation. And despite MSE honed advice their photos are CARP, loads of junk about and cluttered and the main picture is an unflattering shot in the shade of the back of the house. Also noticed something much posher for sale at £1.6ish which was being marketed at over £2 mill. its been on forever it seems. The friends who sold a for £1.8, their place has sat empty since completion, a year ago! Its astounding, the money to bid up a house by half a millionthen not do anything with it...not even have builders in...just lock and leave. Initially they had landscapers and decorators etc coming to view but that's stopped I'm told.. Pricing still seems all over the show....very little consistancy at all. Its always been a bit finger in the air but seems more random number generated atm.

Sorry to hear about that <hugs>...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I'll live, I'm presuming you mean the separation rather than the house;). Thank you, but TBH, they should never have got hitched. Its just a shame: together they would have had a reasonably comfortable retirement with financial choice, apart they won't so much. It makes me sad for them, and really for us as a family in the past.
Maybe they'll each find someone new to grow close to, that would be really nice.
(unless they are evil step parents).

Couldn't they just put up a couple of walls and live at separate ends and split the bills?
If my parents split and sold the house, half of this house would just about buy a pokey 1-bed flat, not a nice one even. Although it'd be a sheltered flat and you can get some of those cheaper.0 -

there house is a pants shape, I don't think so. Neither of them want to be in that area any ore either.
I'm not going to share the link because while I'm happy for lots of the nice people to know my intimate details they are not me, and don't know anyone and so it feels a bit invasive to detail it here.
Besides....not 100% sure one isn't capable of finding me on here at some point and would break my neck for sharing.:)0 -
Top tip: As soon as you can buy a big house ... make sure it's easy to split it in half "in case".0
