When did it become acceptable to (I) to eat burger king on the train; (II) let your dog sit on the seat on a train; and (III) conduct telephone conversations by speakerphone in the bleeding quiet carriage. I think I prefer the packed train home at 7pm!

Why has my laptop and the microwave (and we are talking 250 quid LG halogen not 40 quid argos jobbie) both stopped working today?

Microwave looks like it may need a new turntable motor (or spindle at any rate) and laptop it appears to have a bad sector in the hard drive at some vital point in the boot - anyone reckon it would be possible to boot in to something that would let me run a scan disk and hopefully fix the boot error? Then may be I could get a new hard drive and clone the existing one as a longer term fix...

Can I get FF4 to have a status bar at the bottom again move the tabs back underneath the address bar?

    Edit:

Since my reduction in income when I have been trying to spend less:
Both cars have stopped working very expensively, one has been crashed in to, the bath shower screen has broken, the washing machine broke and now today the laptop (5+ years old) and the microwave have stopped working...
...how does that all work then?
    I think....

I fixed my gas last June for a year at a cost of about 960 - cheapest fix available now for a year is 1422...48% more, Ouch! I might take a punt on non fixed prices this year.
    I think....

The address bar is also your google search bar.

That's one of the things I love about chrome. Just start typing in the address bar and it works out if you are doing a search or are typing a web address.

Yes, I understand that. But mostly what I want to do is run a search that will open in a new tab, and it's frequently a product or image or video search rather than a general one. I find that fiddlier in chrome, where I have to open a new tab first, then type my search terms, and then change to a different type of search. With FF, I type my search terms, and then click on the type of search I want. However, I could get used to that. It's not being able to have the highlight feature that I would really miss if I used chrome full time.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

And I will also be making my debut on radio helping to commentate on the scoring process...eekkk!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

God knows. Another thing that's annoying me about it is that when you right click and select open new tab, that option used to be second in the list but is now first. I automatically click the second still.

As with all these things you just have to get used to the new format or become a luddite - delete and download the old version again.

I just deleted a post. It felt brilliant. My feeling always has been if you start to get frustrated by the discussion its time to step back. So I did. It seems to me besides circular discussions there are increasing numbers of trolls on MSE atm. On the Marriage/family board noticeably.

If I weren't crook this week it would be time for a time out I think. :)

It wouldn't be the same without the occasional scrap although I don't really like serious debate/arguments, especially on things where things are subjective, like the families board. I like to 'like' things as the board is so busy, people are already saying things I've thought.

I got called Boozergirl last night. That's a first. It's usually Dozygirl when people resort to name calling. I don't think they realise I don't have blue hair or even a dressing gown this nice in real life. I've just realised I've lost my hard hat! When did I do that?
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
