Well, we can stop all the house price debate. None of it matters:

I'm not an electrician, but I thought you need a separate one just for the shower

Yes you do, under current wiring regs.

Congratulations. :) what next then? presumably the right house is still on the market?

We move into the right house, which is a wrong house to live in for us, until that one sells. And then we find a new right house to live in. We've fallen for a massive pile that we can't really afford. Maybe we'll rent again and build a house, dunno. But I'm not moving again for a long while when we find it. It's all interesting, I guess.

Why did I end up getting 50+ year old blokes instead of LIR?:(

tbh, my long boots tend to be wellies these days ....you're ok. Last time I got caught naked I think I was covered in slurry and with only a chicken to protect my modesty.

In fact did mention another chicken got caught in there recently? Luckily some chaps were here with a digger and drove in and rescued him for me.:D

Shame you can't move this way and be my builders and help me pick expensive wallpaper etc etc.

Thank god you went on about the digger, as at first I did not read it as a chicken getting caught in slurry.:D

    Seeing Nikkster's post....

When DW and I were first married and with only a dog for a family, we went on holiday to Scotland. Unfortunately, due to a car malfunction, we started late and had only reached Lancaster by nightfall. Things were getting desperate, so we grabbed the first B&B that had a vacancy, parked the car, had a bite to eat and then thought 'Dog!'

By that time it was pitch dark, but I remembered a lane across the road, so I took Dog in there, hoping to find a field or something. Well, I really couldn't see a thing, as we were right on the outkirts. Next thing I knew, I was falling down some kind of a bank onto gravel and I couldn't even see the dog, but I figured as there was grass there too she'd be OK.

Dog spent the night in the car. Next morning, I was up early enough to catch the sunrise. Of course I thought about Dog's needs, and decided I'd just go back to the lane, as there would be no falling over issues this time. However, that turned out to be a very bad plan, as it was obvious that no field existed, just a steep embankment and a neatly manicured green, surrounded by gravel.....complete with very large dog turd. :o:o

I was just on the school run wondering whether to move to Devon for the school holidays. Is that commutable?

I can pick expensive wallpaper from here though :D The next right house needs rooms to suit Cole & Son Orchids and Flamingos. Flamingos in my new, imaginary kitchen.
