    On my android I use:

    angry birds
    barcode scanner
dtd calculator (for tesco deal discussed above)
    fancy widget
    guitar tuner
    msn talk
myplayer (old version which gives live bbc)
    google maps and sat nav
    google translate

and the default android browser. If you are on droid 2.1 I think flashlite is useful.

Have you rooted, removed network operator bloatware and upgraded rom?

Modaco seems the best site for newbie android tips by handset.

Cheers michaels, excellent list. I was ok until I got to the sentence highlighted. I can see that the words are in English, but no matter how many times I read them they make no sense to me! Will definitely check out Modaco though. Sounds like I need it.

One of my clients was a drive away so work gave me a pool car - it changed every 6 months when it needed a service, of the ones I can remember, I had an Astra which as the world's dullest car and even though only a few months old stopped on the m25 once (luckily in stop start traffic and refused to go again for 20 minutes then worked fine again as if nothing had happened; a Daewoo which was the worlds worst car without being terrible at anything it was poor at everything and got horribly boomy in the cabin ay any speed over 70 (possibly a safety feature?) and the one I loved, a Fiat Bravo - it was only a 1.2 or 1.4 and 12v not 16 but the engine was torquey and smooth all the way, the handling was sharp like a smaller car and with it's funky looks (3 door with the circle tail lights) and comfortable seats it was great - however a colleague crashed his one going not very fast and whilst he was fine the car was a goner so I wouldn't have fancied a big crash in one...
We;ve got a Fiat Bravo / Brava (can never remember whcih one it is) and it's wonderful. I got it for my sister's 21st birthday present, and it was 2 or 3 years old then. It's now 12 or 13 years old, and in the whole time we've owned it it's needed a new battery, new exhaust, new tyres, and that's it. It always starts, even this winter when it was snow / ice time and it hadn't been driven for 4 weeks. And it's fun to drive, too!
    I think....

Ours is the 3 door one, and the seats are very comfy, you're right. And it's 1.6 litres, so a lot of fun to drive.

It's not terrible, the place we're buying - just very, very tired and shabby.

Congratulations on your new home and enjoy many lovely days in it

I'm absolutely out of it this evening, I may be wandering around scrapyards tomorrow looking for car spare bits, should be "interesting"

Animals are lovely to drive past when you're in the countryside, but I'd not want to look after any (nor get naked in the process of rounding them up like LIR manages to).

I'm more into cute n fluffy things like bunny rabbits (especially dwarf lop eared ones) and puddy tatts.

    :)

Re the colour of kitchens, I nearly dropped an image link in here yesterday - stumbled across a house that was new to market that had the most hideous kitchen ever. This was a standard 3-bed semi, fairly new build (say up to 6 years old) and it had an entirely black kitchen, with a fluorescent bright pink worktop. I kid ye not. If I find it again I'll drop in a link.

I think I just found the winner of the "Most Bizarre Kitchen Photo" contest. This is a fabulous Olde Worlde cottage in need of some serious doing up.

    Check out that floorplan.

Lovely little place... definitely one to be snapped up as a Holiday Let by that London lot :)

    How Much?!

You'd think that people might just learn to embrace the concept of a freestanding kitchen in a place like that. But then you'd think that no-one would choose blamange pink out of choice.

It looks lovely. Except the dodgy floor tiles, the pink kitchen and the cost per square foot and the paint stripping you'd have to do.

EDIT: Dig the multi-quote! I'd never have worked that one out by myself. Never.
