Re test drives, they're imperative. As a diminutive female, I find a lot of cars are designed for men - bigger men - and I can't see things, or reach things. In one car I drove, I had to have the seat so far forward to reach the pedals, the gearstick was almost in my arm pit. On driving a 7.5 tonne truck years ago, I had to stand up in the cab to get it into reverse else I couldn't reach as far as it needed to go. Porsche 911s, I can't see out of the windscreen as the seats are too low - and if I use a cushion I struggle to reach the pedals.
So many irritations with cars and how big they expect you to be0 -

Sounds idyllic. I never see that time of day!
Solution this afternoon involved Argos gift vouchers and a flash gun that will bounce off the ceiling. It's definitely solving the white light problem but now I've lost the nice warm natural light so it's on hold until tomorrow again.
H wonders why it takes me so long, I've taken about 300 photos in the last 24 hours, most of them deleted as it certainly doesn't come instinctively yet! Imagine how expensive this would be with a 35mm camera!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Appointment on Wed for something entirely different too, so that's two trips I have to make as Taxi Driver this week.lemonjelly wrote: »I'd like your votes please folks. ....me too.
Tesco update......after spending the afternoon in Rochester (not much industry left but someone runs a large clothing enterprise down there....though most items not made in UK) I got back, had to unload 12 large cartons from car into studio (as OH gone to premiere of Thor tonight) and drove home, dropped DD off....and then went to Tesco to get my 1st basket of DTD. :j
It's a new one and enormous with a vast underground carpark. I am unfamiliar with the layout too so took a little longer than it should have done.
I had forgotton my spreadsheet list but did get the Chasse du Pape CDR wine and Tesco won one me as we also needed milk and bread.
It was quite painless though and added 45 mins to the end of my day.
I think I might stick to the luxe/higher price DTD's for the time being to make the trip worthwhile.....so waiting for my coupon to ping into my inbox so I can go back for more.:D0 -
I've decided to go with buying a replacement washing machine door rather than claim on the insurance....ordered the blooming thing now (£47 and a few odd pennies) and will look forward to getting it fitted (not!)...Mrs Bodge and son into action again.
Re beaches, I live a ten minute drive from the beach...my parents are even closer, they just walk to the top of the road.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Inspired by the mention on this thread, I've also got my DTD career up and running this week - started with some L'Oreal Eye Cream yesterday. DTD voucher came through today, and have 'invested' it in some toothbrush headsSo far so good!
I think part of the 'thrill' is hoping that its all going to work out as planned (waiting for the voucher to appear). I can see it getting a bit addictive (and the spreadsheet is phenomenal)!0 -
Evening all.
Can anyone recommend some useful Android apps for my mobile? Having only used phone text and camera up until now, I'm sure there's loads out there I don't know about. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Can you use Whats App? You can text people for totally free. That's good.
I have an iPhone. My favourites are Voucher Cloud and the Rightmove App if you can have those.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
