I now have a fairly wierd image of you & foundinrates comparing notes on the minutes of last nights dinner & discussions, before going about on your daily duties!:D

Heaven forbid, an arguement in your house would I assume involve a lot of references to these documents, possibly even with them being waved about!

Look at the size of that screen!!!

    I've got about a 15-17" screen here.

I didn't know about Halfords, the nearest one to me's 20 miles away, I wonder if they do that there. I have somebody that needs to know this, so I'll make them a list of every Halfords on their daily commute route, which is 80 miles long.

I'm confused by the Halfords site, I found the page but there's no way to find out which Halfords would offer the service. The one that's 20 miles from me certainly doesn't have a garage, it's a shop.

But here's the page on what Halfords do:
    http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ACArticleDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&articleId=757354&categoryId=245348

Found it, you have to click on the link to find your local store and then there's a series of icons for what they do ... and it's the spanner.

Monitor size honestly wasn't on my mind when I posted that receipt. It might explain why I sometimes get carried away in my posts. :silenced: It's an ageing six year old 20" lcd, and was a treat purchase which made sense given how much I'm at my computer, for work and fun.

I focused too long on making sure my debit card details weren't on the photo.. that I forgot my browser is showing some of my favourites. Got a "drain how-to" site bookmarked for we have a drain packed full of compacted soil. Spoken to the council and householder's responsibility as I fully expected. Going to have to get someone in to deal with that when the weather turns warmer. A couple of other drains could also do with some pre-problem maintenance as well I think, so I'm thinking of buying some rods.. the type you can turn either way.

Yes from PN's link - so the Halfords guy really did me a favour reminiding me the more powerful bulbs should be fitted in pairs and fitting the extra one for free.
Purchase your new car Headlight Bulbs from Halfords and our trained professionals can fit them for just £5.99 each
I wouldn't normally use Halfords for fitting anything, but figured they must have gotten quite adept at fitting new bulbs, and they were. They can be tricky to do - or seriously difficult.

I am nice! That's why I want my hen's lives to be nice. If they suffer at the end, that wouldn't be nice, would it?

Anyway, this applies only to old and/or ill birds, or 'cockerals.' It's not like I'll be doing it every week. :)

Hello & welcome to Fabion. We're a decent bunch; the acceptable face of this board, in fact. ;)

I am sure you are nice, but that isn't a nice topic for a thread that is meant to be "nice as pie" - I certainly wasn't envisaging bird pie. Now I won't be able to see a traffic cone on the road without thinking of your alternative usage.

I think this is one way I've 'suffered' in life, especially in the workplace. I've kind of gathered over the years that if I am given a bunch of verbal instructions, then I can't really remember much after the first one. So I figured that all verbal instructions must be written down.

The trouble is, that nobody will wait for that. They want to give you some verbal instructions, what to do lists, etc, and expect you to remember it. Well, I can't.

I also have never been able to carry out a conversation on a mobile phone. Firstly there's understanding what they're saying, then it's difficult knowing when they've finished speaking. I do hate them.

The trouble is that I've been made to feel bad/useless about this sort of thing every day/week/month for years as I didn't know that I was struggling/why, I just wasn't able to remember things that people had said to me. I had no reason, no name for it. So it's caused many bad moments and feelings of anxiety over the years.

I'd never dare do that. I'd just go along and be distressed and isolated and not enjoy it and want to run, run, run as far away as possible and be alone when it was all over.

It's brilliant having you on this board as you can see things as an adult with Aspergers and you can put into words what my two cannot as yet.

Your reaction would also be youngest's reaction but middle son has always been the escapologist when under stress. He once kicked me to the ground in his bid to escape from a stressful experience (family support worker round the house and he couldn't cope with her being there and she wouldn't allow him to leave the room)...he has to just get away.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

The other one where I'm "caught out" by verbal instructions where it's all gone pear-shaped is where you're working on many things and some boss comes up to you and just asks "have you done the report?" Well, my brain has to break off from what I'm doing, then digest their words ... by then they're agitated and assume I've not done it, so then they speak again - annoyed that I've not done something important.... and I enquire "which report?" which they take to mean "I have completely forgotten to do that", so their next words are annoyed/agitated and make me feel like !!!!!!.... and when I eventually manage to get them to slow down and I work out which report, I tell them that it's done, it was done, to deadline, as requested, spot on - and dealt with exactly how it should have been. But they're not listening by then and I am left to feel distressed and down and bad all day. A few similar misunderstandings and the job's usually 'spoilt' for me and there's a complete relationship breakdown in the workplace.

I just had years of this and never knew why. Now I do, but, to be honest, I am really too scared to go back into the workplace these days.

Do you know, that is exactly what is happening with middle son and this subject. The teacher fires questions at him, he tries to remember or work out what she is talking about, she gets annoyed and fires more questions, he gets stressed and then she doesn't listen when he has finally worked out what she was originally talking about and puts him down as someone who doesn't want to do the work.

And yes, the teacher'/student relationship has completely broken down because of it.

    Chicken pie...now that's an idea.....:D:D

I use traffic cones (when I had them that is) as bending posts with the horses. :) Much easier to move around than anything else.I could do with a whole load of them atm.

Special horse is a bit depressed I think. I'm hoping its just the weather, but I think its something going on with the group dynamic. She's standing in the barn alone instead of being out with the others ALL the time. :( very clingy when I'm out there. :(
