That's what I understand, too. In your case, it's not just doing huge orders which you won't get paid for for months. It's also the risk in having to find new factories to put the stuff together for you. So, the worst possible option is that you deliver the huge order, just managing to do that within your available finance, and then the store chain rejects the goods for some reason - most likely because you've had to use a new factory that turns out not to be so hot.
It's difficult, because there are risks in not providing what they want - they show your designs to an existing supplier, etc.
Yup..all too scary scary.
In the end e hit a middle ground with them as said 'no' to 1st request and negotiated the qty down to a level that we can do plus 1; deliver on time and 2; could afford to lose if something goes pearshaped.
Our indies (UK and Overseas) supplying is the one we are really going for though as I would like to disentangle ourselves from a few corp things at some point in the future. Some stuff doesn't sit well with me now and again...but, you know.....nothing wrong with things being a means to an end and all that0 -
I'm so pleased to hear that FC. Was beginning to worry about you. Seems that you're way ahead of the game.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

So am I....the blonde dentist, that is!:p She now has an equally blonde assistant, but who sounds like she's not from Krakow.... probably more like Cullompton.
I was told off for not brushing well enough at the back, but apparently, I get away with a lot because I have, "Verry healthy gums, so strooong in a man of your age!" :A(losing something in the translation here.:() That made the whole trip worth it.
And it does cost quite a lot. My DW, who goes to the dentist up in the little town, had a check-up which cost £19. My two blondes were almost exactly double at £39.
Somebody mention 'added value' the other day?0 -

I wonder if we'd take better care of our teeth as a nation in general if the dentists were all ''eye candy''? I'm trying to ignore the fact that I'm going to have to address the issue of veneers soon. I was told it needed addressing urgently about four years ago now I guess, maybe longer, but its still ok. I have a dead tooth you see, at the front.
It looks ''ok'' its just a little darker than its neighbours. I was told if I idn't address it it would end up brown very quickly. Its not yet brown.

Me too pretty please Pastures...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Surely, it'll still be brown if it has a veneer on? You just won't see it.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

You could always go to Budapest for cut price dentistry.
My teeth are pretty good and I have private dental insurance, but I need an implant and part of my jawbone regrown. The cost keeps coming down as its quite a new procedure, I'm waiting until it costs less than an exotic holiday. At this point in time I'm thinking that it's at the back and I'd rather have the holiday. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? The 60 year old hairy bloke I used to have before I moved was just as expensive. I dread to think what kind of surcharge I paid in respect of his services.0
