I'm just trying to work out what else they could do?
Deny entry, send her back to her departure point and require her to visit the british consulate in that country to renew passport, then book another flight home.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Deny entry, send her back to her departure point and require her to visit the british consulate in that country to renew passport, then book another flight home.
But she's still a British Citizen, and even if her passport is slightly out of date it's still got very strong evidential value. So, perhaps she's entitled to entry? Umin rights, innit. Or perhaps you are correct, and they were just being nice to her. It's not an area I have any knowledge of at all. Where's NDG when you need her?
Besides that, the country she'd just left would probably deny her entry without a valid passport, so she'd never meet up with the consul in that country. The airports would be full of people living their lives out in the transit lounges. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Excellent news Missk.....bet it is a huge relief. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
missk, I'm so relieved for you. it seems bonkers to me, misplaced officiousness over something that MUST be on a computer and if not then what the good is the system, so spending time/money and mistrust on legal immigrants rather than spotting illegal ones.
You're just back...what you should be doing is relaxing and having a lovely bath then being spoilt by your dH.0 -
It's great that you are finally back, MissKool. Is it a permanent solution (i.e. a visa change)?“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
