Been out looking at moving my storage location today. That was a 70 mile round trip just to visit the two nearest to me in a circular route.

I saw diesel at £1.40/litre last night.

My trips today averaged out at 58.8mpg... eeeasy on that pedal :)

That's early. Mine are still full of bugs.:( I will put them outside when we have a somewhat milder spell and the birds will sort them. During the really cold snap, a wren would come into the conservatory and clean up for me, but she doesn't want to know now!

Did you ever visit Patricia Marrow when you were at your old place? She sold me one of my abutilons, but it wasn't one of these survivors. Tiny thing it was....and she charged me £8.50! :rotfl:

Have posted over at the other place. Would welcome your opinions. You'll understand why I haven't posted here when you see what I've posted. Don't want as big an audience. Thanks!

I don't remember going there but know where it is. I like that little town...excellent health food shop...one of the best ever in fact, good charity shops and a good staitioners. Its had a bit of good luck in recent years...new homes building and a return to good shops. The deli was excellent but now isn't as good IMO. Not that I shopped there anyway...too pricey ;) The antique shop is a ''good old pokey'' sort of antique shop too...not too tatty and not too pricey. This abutilon flowered over winter too...I remember you asking me what I was doing to it when I mentioned it.

Viva, I'm thinking about what you posted. Its a mulling one.

Grr nightmare....middle son was handed his options form back today as they have decided one of his choices is 'below him', it was only one of his reserves anyway but it was a practical subject which would have helped with his independent living.

So, we have had to revisit the booklet to try to come up with another subject that is in the range of an A-C GCSE (or equivalent) as level 1 courses are not intelligent enough for him...even if they would be extremely handy to him to be able to live independently when he is older.

Mind you, at least we know he is seen as one of their academically brighter pupils but blooming annoying as it took us weeks of discussion to come up with the original choices in the first place.

Errr... Sue, it's his life, not the school's. Who are they to say that this practical course is beneath him? Stand up to them. It's worth listening to what they have to say, because they know a lot about the courses. However, you and your son are the ones who know what he needs, and if you have strong reasons for thinking that this course will benefit him from reasons other than academic ones, then I recommend you go in and have a further discussion with the school.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I think they were concerned he would be bored.....or they were worried about their stats as he is seen as one of those who would be in the at least 5 A-C GCSEs and for him to do a lower course would muck things up (the cynical me)

He has gone for another practical course though, food technology at GCSE, so they cannot complain and at least it will help him for independent living.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    I'd bet 10:1 it's the stats.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Hi everyone, hope you're all well. I haven't disappeared from the face of the earth, just been really busy with one thing and another. My mum has ongoing health problems, which means I am now very involved with her care and I'm not overflowing with free time or energy.

But it's lovely to pop in and keep in touch. :)
