You are living with mum and dad, am I right? Do they have a garden you could stick a shed up in for your jewellery work?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    PN...

It seems to me you are dealing with too many variables...that was why I was asking about the work issue last week. Can you move further from home in any direction...I know you want the coast still, but can you go to cheaper coast..how close do you have to be to them (o.e.are you going to be helping them)? If you have to be close does that limit the places you could take a job in too?

Actually, I expect that most people are looking for reasonable building work and dead cheap, but I don't think DG is looking for that sort of work.

This is an issue. How to get customers to understand that you are offering a quality product at a reasonable price.

    Or believe it. :(

And I want the website to look nice as well. I think it was LIR that said a nice website would make people think we're expensive.

It is a fear.....but you can justify this with content.....show the vlue on the site...its the best opportunity you get. SAY that you think its important to do things well but also demenstate this with a case study or something where cost was considered.:) Just trying to say to show you are not too scary for people not to suggest you do a bad website!

I have loads of photos. Should I alt them all with keywords? Does it matter where in the site the keywords are or do I need to clutter up the front page with words?

I'm going insane here. How do I make the tagline appear on the header bar but not smack bang behind the typing that belongs to my theme? Getting to grips with making a website, not getting to grips with inserting random words at all :(

Only two keywords a page. Don't go mad. You are a local builder. Just write for human beings first and last... have sensible stuff in the alt tags... don't over think it.

Your competitors don't know very much about SEO, so even if you do 99% of things wrong with SEO, you will still probably end up on the first page of google.

Grr nightmare....middle son was handed his options form back today as they have decided one of his choices is 'below him', it was only one of his reserves anyway but it was a practical subject which would have helped with his independent living.

So, we have had to revisit the booklet to try to come up with another subject that is in the range of an A-C GCSE (or equivalent) as level 1 courses are not intelligent enough for him...even if they would be extremely handy to him to be able to live independently when he is older.

Mind you, at least we know he is seen as one of their academically brighter pupils but blooming annoying as it took us weeks of discussion to come up with the original choices in the first place.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Should just chuck darts at the form, which is the equivalent of what I did. We were literally marched into the hall, given a form and told to "pick six different things".

Moving scrolling text on a website is not that attractive imo.

For the tag line: the company I worked for once received a flyer with the folowing tag - 'Low prices and quality' which we of course we have pinned up somewhere to this day - I wanted to adopt it as the company strapline but I think it is probably too close to the truth for everyone else to find it funny...

I dunno, I do find it a bit cheesy, but there's a space on the Website where I have to put something! It's the header for a 'thing' (technical) which scrolls and shows an extension that we built on a house as it goes up. I can either just give it a heading that relates to that house or, because it's big and slap bang in the middle of the front page, I thought I should make it some kind of selling point.

I like the ideas into reality one, it's a bit less vomit-inducing than 'dreams into reality'

As for USP, I'd like to think we can price things sensibly because it's been our own money being spent on most things until now, so the motivation has been there to get the best price for good stuff. But my own motivation is the desire to makes stuff that looks nice.

'the best price for good, pretty stuff!' :o and a good looking bloke that does the tiling

I'm not taking this seriously enough am I?
    I think....

I am merely existing, not 'living' and if there were any chance of any shed ever anywhere, dad'd have put one up 10-15 years ago for himself.

Fact: I have to get OUT.... I am going round the twist.
