We have first large daffodil in flower here. It is raining. I have a headache.
On my drive out today daffodils are for sale on almost every road verge. Big bucketfuls of them. But then the Isles of Scilly always have the first flowers of the year in the UK as the weather's so mild down 'ere.

we don't have daffs yet. I've seen a few n banks, maybe there aren't that many here. I planted some in a tub and they are up but not yet open, not all are forming flowers I think.

The crocii are all ut now and look really trimphant close up. As you drive past it loks a bit like someone dropped some paper hankies.....

I'll tell you all my dream now. Today I was out, beachcombing - and that always whacks me out, so I'd nodded off and had a bizarre dream. Not only was it bizarre but I've had it before.

It's night and I'm driving along a dark, fast winding road. The road is elevated above towns/villages/whatever, but you aren't aware of those as it's night.

There's a car behind me, his lights are on. He overtakes me, pulls in again, then promptly pulls out, crosses all three carriageways and disappears through a wooden fence.

Next I find myself in the village below (as happens in dreams, sometimes you just 'appear instantly' elsewhere). Ive parked the car and got my mobile out, trying to call the emergency services, but I have no idea where I am. I parked in a car park, came out of the entrance and turned to the right, there's a road and now I see a business open, a hotel name board. I can see up the hill a bungalow alight inside, on fire. That must be where the car landed.

Now, where there was just a board, it seems to be a shop; I try to explain to the woman what's happened and I point out the bungalow on fire. We walk closer. The door's open, everything seems on fire, but there are no flames. Nobody seems bothered.

Next, I'm somewhere else in the village and there's a long/ancient type of piece of wood (think long beam/flattened tree trunk with holes in it) and I can see coloured lights dancing. I mention how lovely they are, nobody else can see them. I use a pointy stick and stick it into one of the holes and say "here". Nobody else can see them, but it appears cool that I can and nobody thinks I'm mad.

I've still not found the car, geographically I can't see where the fence/road were. Nobody's bothered. Some teen lad puts a fun knife into my hand; it's jointed and not dissimilar to a handheld ratchet tool. With a flick of the wrist I've made it shape differently - and then I turn it over and there's an entire King Arther/Sorcerer's Stone type of model scene on the flat reverse. I say to the kid "Hey, it does cool stuff and makes things" and he bows and takes two steps back.

Anyway, then I was woken up as my parents were huffing and puffing to their room to make their bed.

    Weird dream though.

Also hurt my lower back shifting boxes at the weekend which is sore all down my legs so I'm afraid I'm in no state to help you out with your single status this evening Viva...

May be a bit of what PN is smoking would make everything better?

I wish I'd got a dvd, good call Viva :)

Dh called earlier jubilant that he'd managed to push the lenses out of his old prescription sunglasses and squeeze in the lenses from the glasses he broke at the weekend, supported with a bit of blutack. He broke his frames yeasterday and the replacements won't be in till end of week. Its been so long since he wore contacts sudenly being in them full time was uncomfortable. He's talking a lot about guide dogs today. I'm encouraging him to see about lazer before his eyes are too far gone to be eligible.

I don't smoke, hate the smell. However I think PN may be on Gaddafi's psychotropic Nescafe. Since I heard about that (your fault Hamish if you're reading) I can't stop giggling at the thought. It is such a serious matter, yet so eerily funny.

Home alone is nice occasionally.... Film was beautiful. Definitely not the sort of thing I could have watched with DH. He would have been asleep within the first ten minutes. It doesn't involve Bruce Willis or anti-aircraft artillery.

Love that dream, mine are rarely that interesting. They often feature Gordon Ramsay for some reason :o

Glad to hear about the loo!

I've made a website. It has bare-ish bones, some pictures, not a lot of words. Looks quite pretty. I'm not very good at blowing my own trumpet so I'm really struggling with what to say and my head is already spinning with making photographs fit. If I type the company name into Google it does come up though obviously I need it to come up even when people aren't looking for us. I deleted the contact details until it looks a bit more sensible as I've written words like 'stuff' on it :o I have some sort of ideas, would like the 'about us' to be a bit more of a story than a corporate spiel perhaps. Everything's a bit disjointed in my head - not unusual for me!

And I need a strapline for us. Lynzpower suggested 'building stuff since yesterday' which made me giggle.

That's such a bloke thing! What have we married? I love mine dearly and know you do yours too, but the way 'man brains' work is at times a mystery to me.

ETA: highly recommend film to anyone who hasn't watched it. It is a cinematographic delight and beautifully acted.
