I scored 33%. Mind you, it would be a bit difficult for my household to have more than one car, since I'm the only person over 10 living here.

ETA I want to know what lir scores!

The questions are all wrong....eg in Kensington and Chelsea ''posh'' people get the bus......I accept the chances are the same wouldn't happen in my town wouldn't in my local town.

What is that nonsense about cutlery for guests? Whether you have a canteen of silver usually depends on how many siblings you and your parents had...who can afford to buy Mappin and Webb..so not having a canteen doesn't mean your not posh. And cars? LRs see mud....even the poshest people ...following hounds in the car, shooting...or driving across an estate.

SAinsburys? Depends where you live as does newspaper delivery.

83% (No extra car, keep my shoes on usually....its situation dependant and...what are the others..oh well.)

Grr. y head is aching a I can't think very well today. That leaky boiler? I called the boiler man and he said to brace myself for bad news when his friend the boiler safe plumber can see it next week. well, that is a PITA, but I'm cross with myself for being cross about it...we didn;t think it would work this year, so trying to see having had it until now as a bonus. We knew we had to replace eventually though. It will be emersion for a few months though!

Then the environmental agency form I have to complete today has yes tick boxes, and we don't fit in to any of the tick boxes. I hate that...it really annoys me. The building regs guy misinformed me he said to return it when he'd seen it today, now the EA tell me they should have had it next week/week before! They said I now have to expect a delay of 15 days! That's fifteen days the garden has all trenches in it I have to scramble over..

Oooh, I think the anadin is kicking in.....GOOD!

Leaking water is not leaking gas, tell the gas safe bod you need it to keep going for a few more months.

Shame about the building regs inspection; that's why people don't bother getting certs and just buy indemnity policies when they sell!

Speaking of building officers, I had to take the car to my mechanics which is a fair few miles away. Thought I'd take the scenic route rather than the main road and went through Berkhamsted instead. In the middle of Berkhamsted High Street there is an old gentleman's outfitters store which was sold recently and was being done up. Over the weekend, the whole of the front of the building fell off and into the street. Driving past this morning, they've now had to totally brace the side wall with scaffolding and you can see the floors sagging and just hanging there. Have had a look round and found some pics and clips. It's quite spectacular, and an insight to why these annoying people have to exist i suppose:

On the subject of restoring old buildings, I like Berkhamsted, in particular the Rex Cinema which I've posted about in the past. As michaels and some of my fellow Hertfordshire-ites will know, it will soon get a sister venue - The Odyssey - in St Albans:

Thank fully its oil not gas.....unusual to have a reason to be thankful for oil these days! But its less of a worry when things go a little wrong.

Viva and silvercar bith say ''right things'' about buildings regs. But the thing is...they have gone wrong for that building and here before (where should have been very building reg controlled as an ex coucil farm!). what makes me cross-est is the things we are having to undo that have been done so badly before! Some of the things we have to resolve contractually are putting things done by them poorly!

Lir, can you get them to put the finite version in writing to you so that at least you know what you are working to going forward? I hate this whole "say it rather than writing it down and then do something different in the future" culture that is pervading the country at the moment. Bl00dy call centres are the worst.

I am. Considering most of those questions seem to assess how ''middle class'' or up-one-self one is I am obviously resoundingly so!

edit: can I take a proud moment...dh just found out to chapters of a book he ''ghost wrote'' for a law text has been published under his name not the name he thought it was going under. The book will sell maybe four copies (specialised law text) but he's surprised because while he's written chapters before he's been told they will be used (either under soeone else's name after trainees do the research, or a couple of times, in his own name) he thought this was one of the former. As its the area of law in which he's now becoming more specialised this is really good. :)
