You're supposed to be at the other end, raking it in.
    :)

Yeah. Thought did occur to me, too, actually. :p

Problem is, I am rubbish at getting these things started. Never managed to get a forum or the like started. Never quite worked out how to do it. (Yeah, technical stuff... easy... not so good at actually getting people to use it).

I joined webanswers in early october, thus putting it on my "get round tuit" list.

Maybe I should get round tuit tonight. Spent today going through another site I've not touched for a month, still loads to do on that one but I've now worked out how people are getting there and what they're after, now I just have to give it to them.... along with a big dollop-O-adsense blocks :)

On the other hand, I'm starving, which tends to make my mind wander away from working.

Forums are a pain in the butt, it's rare to make money from them, they're a drain on time/resources.

What system are you using on your site/s? It might just be a few clicks to get one up/running.

It's not the technical stuff. I can do the technical stuff, to set them up. But I've never managed to get past the technical stuff to actually getting enough people into the forum so it isn't... like empty.

I've tried it a couple of times.

    The normal procedure is:

    1) Set up a forum
    2) ????
    3) Wind whistles through trees
    4) 2,336,233 spam bots arrive
    5) shut down forum

My sites are so niche, people don't tend to actually want to read most of my content. It's a kind of... I came... I saw... I clicked a link out.

Er, I can't believe anyone sits around wanting to talk about their dualit toaster for very long.

(no that is not my specific topic, but my sites are that specific).

    Maybe weirdos?

No, don't do it! I didn't realise that you only get 1 years revenue on a question you are assigned. So you get a 60% share of revenue on your work for one stinking year. And if the person doesn't assign you, you either get nowt OR you get a share of the revenue granted by a formula they don't even explain. What a crock of...

Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
