Could you get a generic transformer/adaptor from somehwere like argos? You need to make sure it supports the required current 1A / 1000mA

The 'flu' thing we all had over christmas, the first symptom was feeling cold, lasts about 5 days of feeling fairly miserable but actually not too many 'side effects' like cough, snot etc

Middle son off school with a flu type thing...not sure if it is the flu or just a heavy cold but for him to fall asleep after getting home from school and feeling cold, means he is very unwell, he never feels cold (he would wear shorts in the snow if he could get away with it).

Now going to be on tenterhooks with youngest, if he gets this, then god only knows what will happen (he has had the flu/swine flu jab). He is only just getting back to normal after a mild cold at Christmas!
    I think....

I've spent the whole morning trawling the internet for the hope that somewhere there's a flat to rent that doesn't look like somebody died in it/neighbours just got out of prison ... that I can afford. You really need two incomes to be able to afford stuff these days, it's nuts.

    dave/lir/tomterm and others,

Wondering if it's worth spending the money for the sarpo t&m potatoes. we get blight., have eelworms, slugs and scab. So I want an invincible potatoes and they seem to the daddy. they are £9.98 for 3x20 tubers with £5 p&p so I'm tempted to try that.

Think I just need to be told to spend the money. :)

Sorry, no idea, never grown them. From what I have read, although they are resistant to blight, they are not really any better at dealing with the other problems...

We tend to only grow early potatoes. Our luck at main crop is just bad, and we find that we get better value from the shopm keeping the bed space for more... posh... vegetables.

Once again thanks to all for the good wishes. LIR posted a few posts ago that once again she's glad she knows the nice people. I'm always glad I know the nice people...:)

The bit you need to match is the 5V, more so than the 1A, although matching the 1A wouldn't be a bad thing too. You'll also need to match the shape and size of the connector.

Before you try doing that, though, have you tried changing the fuse? Even with a moulded plug there should be a flippy bit that opens up (if you poke it with a screwdriver or strong nailfile or knitting needle or something) so you can get the old fuse out and put a new one in. That's what the fuse is for, so try that first.

Here's hoping middle son is better soon and youngest stays healthy (and you and eldest as well, of course).

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

PS misskool needs encouraging to spend money?:rotfl:

That charger looks like an American model. It does appear to be on several American sites, but I couldn't find it in the UK. Generally, PC world may be the best place to look, since they deal with a lot of weird adapters.

DH's employers are hilarious but very, very sweet. A fruit basket has just been delivered for DH to help in recover! I'll tell him when he's back from the overseas business trip.....

Good employers are always great, but when you know how horrid some people are having it at work ...

I've identified a hotel to stay in, potentially, for 12 days... to go spec out an area. Not booked it yet though, but I've got an idea of price. It's "dead posh", it's 3 AA stars, so posher than anything I've ever stayed in before. Then Valentine's Day more than doubles the room rate, so I'll go for 12 days just for a poke around the area.

Need to get this tax return filled in, submitted... THEN make bookings. Not touched it today :)
