I don't know if other counties do this, but Hertfordshire has an online highway fault reporting system on their website. It seems to work really well, I reported our nearest street light not working on friday and there is a man on a cherry picker outside now.
How'd anybody ever know .... those Council websites are impossible to navigate to find anything when you try - and when you land on the right page they usually say "if this is the stuff you're interested in, call us".

I've never understood why, at least, they didn't all have one common structure/system.... the only difference being the council name in the web address. Then you could have given us your website url and we could've swapped that one name with our own relevant one and it'd have loaded a page that either gave the info, or said "We don't run this service" so we'd know.

Thanks for the god wishes folks.

It is a variety of small(ish) things which when added together, or all coming together make a rather substantial whole.

None of it is relating directly to me (atm), though it is affecting me indirectly.

It is also the health of some of those close to me.

Dropped by to post this as I found it hilarious!

I anticipate Viva will like it. 378 an hour eh?:D
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

If anyone remembers would you type in caps ''geraniums'' later. Its gonna frost and they'll kick the bucket if I forget to bring them in. (easier to put them out for water today)

Insurance vauation for car £3345. :(:( the engineer seemed, noncomitally, to agree it was in stonking condition and very unusal so had stuck to Glass's. :(:(. Repair bill...£9,900.

I can't get hold of dh to ask what he wants to do but we couldn't replace with something similar for £3,345.

Thanks - original very similar to ours except we are 'halls' adjoining so we need to have a corridor or thru-room upstairs. you have a great large lounge, I had this on some versions of my plans but I wanted to have the kitchen/diner across the rest of the back and a utility with an outside door so the utility is on the side rather than the back and thus means the lounge is smaller but I'm still not sure about this part.

Try motoring board for advice but in general first insurance co offer will be low but you need to show actual asking prices for equivalent replacement as part of your 'negotiation'.

    On motoring board too. Thanks.

I'm worried about speed of negotiation....he was saying they wanted to take it today (not sure whether for sale or crunch) and I was saying, no we might want to buy back because we can't replace for that, or the difference in valuation ....

Just stall them, tell them you need time to think about it and consider your options, 2-3 days is reasonable.
