It was a 2 1/2 bed semi and extremely dated as you can see. Original owner from the 30's.
Now 4 double beds. 2 ensuite baths and family bath.
Still loving it, 5 years on, and esp now its mortgage free!
The greenhouse was demolished I'm afraid. It was v old and couldnt be moved. I have replaced it with a better one. (Further behind camera in later pic)
I looked at a thirties house many years ago , same...the same owner from new....and the same electrics!
well built and usually ''family shaped''. and decent garden. Not unlike yours I guess.0 -

silvercar, your house REALLY suits your personality.Impressively so.
They do appear with great regularity in our area but it does depend on who does the offering around yours.0 -

I find London tap water tastes odd, even though I've lived here for 25 years! The fridge water tastes cold and fresh. Ours is mains fed with a filter. I know you can get water dispensers that aren't mains fed, maybe they taste different?
Ice is easy, cubed or crushed on demand.
Couldn't agree more. London water is yeuuurgghhhh :eek:0 -
Will you still have access round the side of the house? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I'm envious of people in their 30s and people in their big houses:o.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I'm sure they must be unhappy in other ways.

I know, we were lucky and found one that had been extended as we liked. Plus we have no vision and couldn't have come up with the idea.
I know that buying unextended is cheaper, but then everyone who has extended says their final bill is far more than they had budgeted and took far longer.
Our extension was similar to your plans. They added a kitchen extension/ family room, utility room downstairs and an extra bedroom and two ensuites upstairs.
Well, I made two attempts to buy unextended properties.
The first one was a 1930s semi. The way the road curved meant that it wasn't possible to get planning permission to extend at the back except on the ground floor, and then the surveyor said the fabric wouldn't support a loft conversion. The rooms were rather poky too, and the spacious extension would have been out of proportion.
The second one was detached, and could have been really lovely when extended, IMO. I think this one is my "one that got away". I was looking forward to that double aspect bedroom with the long south facing window. It was on a bigger plot than the one I'm buying, too. However, the planners put so many restrictions on the extension that it wouldn't have been worth building.
Here's are the floor plan of the detached one. What would you do with this? In a little while I'll tell you what I had planned but wasn't allowed to do:
ETA Just noticed there are a couple of mistakes. There should be a door from the kitchen to outside, just next to the wall with the dining room. There should also (obviously) be a door from the landing into the bathroom!Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Yep, we have broken brains, can't always communicate coherently and get bits of bodies going wrong and grumble a lot.:D:D
edit: size isn't everything BTW. Your houses are ALL warmer and probably structurally sound!:rotfl::rotfl:0 -

The garage is probably only single skin on the outside, but if the back of it were rebuilt during the kitchen extension, then the small third bedroom could go over at first floor level as a large bedroom with en suite, or the titchy bathroom could go into some of bedroom 3's space. Depends on which one values most, bedroom space or bathrooms.
Sorry, only looked briefly. Dinner ready!0
