The impact and mental anguish caused by not having your own space, your own things, just the way you want/need them cannot be under-estimated.
There's no natural light in this house. Anywhere where light could have got in, should have got in, has been blocked. Round the back the kitchen/living room light are blocked by a sunroom and utility room - and layers of blinds and net curtains so you don't actually get any light.
So, there I was in the garden, trying to wedge a bed-table so it was flat, so I could lay out these things I made, so I could take a simple snap, turned into a frustrating and annoying big fat failure. Oh to have my own space, rooms with light, a clear table, lights even!
So I've now got some really cr4ppy photos (quality of which would make me cry if I thought about it) and .... don't expect much (anything) .... as I said, never done it, just tried it for the first time .... but I will have 2 pics of my efforts shortly...
They really need proper laying out, in proper light and a proper camera. As it was I was crouched down over a bed-tray, my foot trying to wedge it up so it was flat, while peering into the sun at a camera phone screen..... they're !!!!!!

Interesting...strung onto wire for strength and shape? Or is it all bead? Very tidy PN.I hope you'll share pics of stuff from the next one too.

It's just standard, strong, beading wire.
Length of wire, choose beads, bung 'em on.
Bung on a crimp thing, bung on another thing I missed the name of and double it back, back through the crimp, feed the wire back down through the beads until it's tight. Do the other end. Crop off any stray wire ends. What's in the picture is all beads... but I didn't want beads and the time couldn't involve more complex methods of joining the beads to a chain etc, so I filled in the 50% remaining with bugle beads, which are long thin drainpipe beads. So, once the big beads stop, it's 3 bugles to the clasp.
Obviously wasn't happy about a number of issues with what I produced, but you do something the first time to get to the end, so next time you can apply experience/knowledge to that.... however, I felt it was a very passable first go.
Edit: and I just realised that purple one looks like it's not even on each side... it actually is, it's just I didn't lay it out right for the photo, so it looks all odd/wrong and lopsided (which it isn't).0 -

"Clean lines" can be innovative, don't talk yourself down.
Thanks for the help on Thinking hats -DD very impressed as she was set this as a challenge in her new job. Good use of resources in my opinion- she asks me- I ask MSE- you solve the problem:T
I'm useless at gardening but DH is revelling in the idea of finally having a garden. My challenge is going to be trying new recipes to please all the family - rather like trying to square a circle but a real buzz when I sometimes manage it.
Going to try to wrap presents for DDs birthday tomorrow (17) but don't want her to catch me."This site is addictive!"

Thanks for the links to fc123's clothes.
Amazing. If I was younger, thinner and had had the confidence at that age to wear those sort of clothes I would be buying by the suitcase full.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I'm still waiting for fc to fulfil that threat to launch a range for older women. As lovely as everyone is on here, I'll be elbowing everyone out of the way to get to those:o.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

To those that are worried dh got a clean bill of health. The whiplash we've been told to keep warm, keep moving gently and he's to nap when he feels like it. No glass in his eyes. They said there might be a little in his hands, but if its embedded to leave it there rather than dig about for it.
Now no need to worry about him we can start to worry about the car0
