To be honest, he would probably have been given a worse penalty for using the mobile phone than the... exotic cigarette... in my area it is a fixed penalty + 3 points for mobile phone use. A herbal cigarette goes in front of the magistrate, and you get a £100 fine if you plead guilty. But most get a caution.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

mmm lovely bath.
How o you get more books than should be on a bookshelf fit? You have the row squashed behind the one you can see then the little ones filling the space between top of book and shelf above or ceiling...where next?0 -
talking of books....we're looking for pictures for our very poncey ''mood boards'' which is our homework over the festive break..and proving very good at focusing us. we both know we saw this picture in a book of my mother's. Mother has obligingly handed over the two books we believed it could be in and we have been through them over and over and its not in there.:( Very annoying.0

One handy hint is that there is normally space left between the books and the bottom of the next shelf up. More advanced tips include squeezing very, very hard, and building tower of babel structures to the sky on the top shelf.
It is important to do this right, bigger books on the bottom, smaller ones on the top.
If you get this wrong, you can get bookalanches which can berry small children.
For really advanced techniques, you can start building outwards, like a medieval house.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Yes, yes, all those spaces usually filled:)
My Fil had exceptionally deep shelves which you could stack books two and a half deep on. The half (i.e. front facing) books were at the back of the other two rows. His new wife made him sell a whole lot of books when he moved in with her ....although...he still keeps a separate apartment filled with books. DH and I refer to it as his John and Yoko apartment..though its not below or even in the same building as the one he actually lives in.0 -

Not a bad idea, we're planning a ''reading room''...too small to be a library, but it on't all fit in one place so that isn't a bad plan....:D:D0 -

I just don't like Frankie Boyle. Nothing to do with the latest kerfuffle, just never have. I really like the Dave Gorman books though, as well as those by Joe Bennett (not a comedian per se but observant in a similar way to DG). I quite fancy the new Dara O'Brien too. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
