wonga, please excuse me if you're genuine, but as there's a web site of the same name as your chosen username I'd like to question your intentions about staying on the Forum fully or whether you're just here to collect addresses. I've already hit the spam button but at this point I don't wish to put you on the list just in case I'm giving you even more access to folk's addresses.

If you can get in touch with the webmaster and prove you're genuine then I'll add you to the list - until then, sorry but I can't put people at risk. How about changing your name if you're genuine.

How could I not take care of my flock, LC 2??! I'm darned if I'm letting some to**er like that on here just waiting for folk to go to his/her site and collect e-mails. Having said that, I'm amazed a .com or a co.uk is allowed in a username, especially after all the trouble that was caused before Christmas by someone trying to steal our e-mails and passwords. I'm forever on the look out - but *everyone be alert for web sites in signatures* etc too, we had that in the "SPC Return" (2nd) thread, but again they didn't get far!!!

Well done Sue for being on the ball and protecting us all :T

A lot of the spammers seem to target the site in what is the middle of the night for you guys and is still early evening for me (cos I'm 7 hours behind), I think they think they're getting a head start and sneaking on when the site is less busy. A couple of nights ago there was one systematically going through all the threads and copying and pasteing their spam. Me and a couple of other posters soon saw them off, quite often within minutes of their post being put on. T'was good fun actually :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Maybe I need to get a life ;)

    Hi all :wave::wave: snip*

Been giving this a bit of thought, dont want to put the money in my bank account savings account as I think it will be too easy to 'move' the money when skint... So what about one of those 'old fashioned' passbook account thingies????

That way I could empty my pot on a regular basis and pay it into there... Does anyone know of any??? I'm not too bothered about interest rates etc, as when its count up time i'll be paying off my credit card debts with it, its just to keep it all safe and out of the way of OH....
    snip*

Not too sure about 'old fashioned' passbook account thingies :rotfl:, but I think if you opened an account at a Building Society you could possibly be given a passbook. I had one 3 years ago, and each month I would trot to the BSoc and get my (measly) interest added.

Well done on the Premium Bond win, always a bonus :T

yoyosam - not sure what the dream means when you're picking money up all night, but it's one of my most favoritist dreams, aah if only :rotfl:

    Toodles

PS sorry everybody for all the posts, it's cos it limits me to the number of quotes I can do, and tonight (Matthew) I have so much to say.

Just in case anybody was curious about whether Sue did the right thing, the following has been copied and pasted from a thread on the Loans board.

    ( sorry I can't do links)

It would appear the company is a PayDay Loan company, and whilst these can be a life-line to people, bearing in mind the amount of interest charged it's not something to be entered into lightly.

Hi i took out a loan from Wonga which was due to be paid back on 16th February 2011 it was originally just over £200 and i would of owed neary £270 with interest, today i got paid my usual money and borrowed £15 from to pay it back as i thought if i paid it back that i would be able to get another straight away as a friend had - i thought if i got one for less it would be less interest, however after paying the loan back i am now getting declined and so can not apply for another which has left me with nothing.
My credit is real bad hence using them and i have no nappies for little one, we have a bit of food but not much and dont know what to do - i have tried one or two other companies but have been declined too

  • Hi

I wondered if there was any room for a newbie? Will be spending most of the year paying off the last of the debts, and trying to keep in some sort of job, so tough times ahead, but even if I have 2p put away on 31st December I can most importantly say I saved some money. Bring it on!!:cool2:

    Hi all

Thanks for the advice re passbook accounts, i'll have a trot to Nationwide one day this week..... Forgot about them still being a building society and DS has some Christmas money I need to pay in for him, before he finds something to spend it on.... :p

I'm not too bothered about interest rates for me, just want to keep my 'savings' away from the rest of the family money.....

Hope you all have lots of pennies for the pots this week :T
