AndElee - Thats what I use at the moment, what love to have it filled by the end of the year. Did this last year, filled it half way and the weight of it made the bottle burst so had to buy a new one!!

How much was half way or did you not check?? I have used an empty xmas choccies tin for now. Pretty large and some change in already.

    Happy new year everybody!!

I am soo looking forward to this year! even though i am now out of a stressfull job and relying on agency work to keep me going and pay the bills, its a scary thought as there isnt always enough of it!! But i am so much happier its unreal! I am also going to look into my own 'cottage business' I like to be crafty but notsure how good i am lol, so will look into doing some bits and pieces and my aim is to learn things this year! aims are:
    1) learn to sew
    2) learn to knit - properly
    3) make wedding cake for friend!!! eek!!
    4) look into finding kitchen premises for making/selling products x

Busy year! also £3 into cinders and some shrapnel into the whikey jar, A quick question, If I 'break into' my jar can i still count it? I would like a new carpet and I am hoping that by june there will be enough in the tin to pay for it? it will have been save but also 'used' for something i need??

Not been out and about too much as my poor DB has been ill since Christmas night and is still not 100% today:(. Ah well, guess he'll get better just in time for work on Tues...:o

Heven't put much into the pot since before Xmas:( but plan to get back on track when I get back to work next week and am back into my normal routine.

Good luck to everyone for 2011 and here's hoping we can smash the £40K Grand Total in Dec....:j

    Thanks Sue :)

I have counted my little tin as I have been unofficially doing this challenge for a few months already and there is £21.63 in there. As this seems like cheating I will take the £20 out to use (bit short this month until pay day- aren't we all after Christmas!) and just leave the £1.63 in for my starting amount.

Don't know what I'm saving for, maybe just some extra treats for us at Christmas... Would be nice to up my target come summer so will be trying very hard!

    xx

How are you going to go about learning to sew and knit? I'm quite interested in learning myself :)

pinkfluffybabe - we've a knitting thread on here, just tap it into the search bar (top right) and you'll find it. There are books on all subjects AND you can get a LOT of help on YouTube!!

3p's still money saved, mummytogirls, better than nowt.

All the best with all your 'to do' or 'to learn' items, henna, saving too mind.

Hope you had a wonderful time in Portugal, teeni!

Glad you had a good time, fishcakes.

Hiya, T to S, good to see you. Sorry to hear about your DB, though whether that's Boy, Brother....or whatever I've no idea, but I hope he gets better quickly.

It we DON'T smash to £40.000 Grand Total this year then summat's wrong for sure!

, that's entirely up to you, but I assure you, you're not the only one to have done so and it doesn't worry me - saving is saving - full stop!

  • Hi Sue,

Just to say DB is my boyfriend. He moved in with me at the end of Oct and hopefully my general savings will improve now that my basic bills have been split in half:)

Have a great 2011 and hopefully we will break the £40K figure.

Google. Put in free instructions on how to knit and lots will come up. Or you tube they will have tutorials you can watch . Enjoy.

    Hi Sue,

Count me in again for another year, although last years pot is still going it was a very tight year and not much change went into the pot so I decided instead of emptying it in December to keep it going until December 2011 where I hope it will pay for Christmas dinner and drinks.
