Very sensible decision IMO.

If I had just finished a days work and then had my hotel cancelled I would be mightily p!ssed off.

They are probably just trying to keep their staff happy, which is very commendable.

I also had a random pricing experience - checked Bicester by searching directly for Bicester and found no £15 rooms - then half an hour later searched for the area around Bicester and linked back through to Bicester to find plenty of £15 rooms. Worth clicking around and trying again if not successful at first.

Incidentally, Bicester is a great base for Oxford, Bicester retail village (classy outlet shops) and several National Trust properties.

We have booked Milton Keynes Central - v good for XScape - tobaganning, snowboarding followed by glow in the dark bowling. A great Christmas treat for the kids.

We were in a Travelodge room when we saw the Watch Dog programme.
For the sake of a good horror story, they must have selected the TLs where they knew this was more likely to happen - probably central London ones.

I've never been turned away from a TL - but I'm taking it as a warning to be prepared to deal with the situation if it arises.

If you are going to book via the internet for these special offers - please be careful. My father-in-law booked a room for them for over christmas in Scotland. The offer at the time was a room for £26. He proceeded through the booking stages and it came up that he hadn't ticked one of the boxes, so he went back and ticked it. He then pressed for the next screen and the screen came up blank, so he went back again. All the details were still there, so he pressed to confirm and got a confirmation that he had booked 2 rooms. :eek: He got in touch with them and they just more or less said TOUGH LUCK, you can't cancel reduced rate rooms. He wrote to them to say that it was an error on their site and that he hadn't booked 2 rooms but they won't hear anything about this and are insisting that he pays the £52.

thanks sounds like a great deal i think the secret is to get there early to secre your room then have a look at those lovely xmas decorations great tip thnaks i too saw watchdog, i think secret is not too travel too far, and get there early good luck

I have done that before! But thankfully they were £10 rooms.

I think I did add the room twice though....entirely my own fault and should have checked before merrily entering my VISA number thrilled with myself for finding such a bargain lol.

A room I was looking at for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which was coming up at £39 is showing as £15 this morning, so it might be worth checking again if your choice of Travelodge/dates weren't at the lower rate.

i notice these rooms are for single occupancy (no children) does anyone know if you can actually smuggle a child in? i'd have to book 2 rooms for 2 adults and 2 kids, do you think they would notice??
