Whenever I feel my motivation slipping, I just read other peoples diaries on here. I really ought to comment more ...
I'm off work for a week and I don't want to waste a moment. It's really hard because the decorators are about to arrive and I hate all the doom and gloom that the monthlies bring
Last night, I bought some new workshoes from mandmdirect. Three pairs for £65 and I used my paypal (survey) and moneybox coins to pay for them.
I registered with a new dentist today. I hate the dentist and have avoided going for a long time. I know it is wrong for me to type this but my parents have done a successful job with instilling their fears in me. I'm just so insecure and paranoid. I just question peoples motivation all the time and it's wrong. I need to take ownership of myself - I just need to grab the bull by the horns so to speak. I was in tears on the phone so goodness knows what they think of me. My appointment is next Wednesday so I need to take an hour or so off work - eek! Time off is unheard of at work. I need to download Sigur Ros onto my ipod and I will be grand. I have to have faith and belief in myself. I have to remember that I have things to be thankful for - things that I have achieved without their scorn. I have to cherish that.
I nearly caught up with the dreaded ironing yesterday. Two more loads of washing and I am done - bedding and delicates this time.
Ok, it is lunchtime. My aim is to update later with more daily achievements
Oh yeah, I now have £3.50 in my purse because I had to pay next weeks check-up in advance - booo!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
:hello:Hiya shiny toaster!
Just read through some of your diary, living on your own must be tough money wise, but well done for setting some goals!
I have only just started on my journey and so far so good, using the council tax free months to pay extra off my debts (with agreement from OH) and have just cut sky bill in half for 6 months so might be cheeky and ask when he gets home later if I can use that spare cash for my payments too!!!!
I know what you mean about the OH not worrying about money too much and just buying it; went into town on sat and followed him round whilst he bought 2 pairs of jeans and new shoes, saw lots I liked but could not spend! He does not earn much more than me but is not in debt like I am!
Hope it goes well am going to subscibe to your diary to follow your progress! x[STRIKE]Family £400[/STRIKE] CC1 [STRIKE]£415[/STRIKE] Lloyds [STRIKE]£460[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Natwest£750[/STRIKE] £627.59 Tesco [STRIKE]£1880[/STRIKE] £1725 Grand total £2,352.59

Thanks for the comments!
It is really tough living on my own. I have my kitties to help keep me sane though! haha I bring in £1420 a month (after deductions) from my main job. I only work p/t - f/t jobs are rarer then hen's teeth. I have a second job but my hours aren't guaranteed. This, on average, brings in another £110 a month. I don't treat my second job as 'real money' because my mortgage is up for renewal next year and I need to make some improvements to my house. My second job pennies go into that fund.
Out of my wages £950 go into my household bank account to pay for household bills/repayments. I tell ya! Once these are gone - never again!!!
Meal planning for the week
Last night - homemade fish and chips and I loved every mouthful!
Monday - homemade sausage caserole
Tuesday - Paprika Chicken - was cooked on This Morning and I have everything in save onions. Served with dauphinoise (sp) potatoes and veg
Wednesday - out with the girlies from work.
Thursday - errr ... something from the freezer
Friday - Nandos style chicken and salad if chappie is coming over. If not, something from the freezer.
Saturday - out with the girlies (old school friends) - pot luck tea. I'm taking Tandoori Chicken from The Takeaway Secret.
Sunday - will think about this later.
I'm trying to snack healthily and have discovered that I can make a dayum good salsa. Jaysus whyohwhy didn't I make this discovery before. It is much tastier, cheaper and has no sneaky preservatives and other yukky stuff.
I have listed several things on ebay. Man alive, I find that job dull!0 -
Nipped to ADSA today and spent £29.42 but a tenner of that was on catfood and £7 was on chicken which has all been bagged and is in the freezer. I bought legs and drumsticks and made seven double portions - roll on salad weather!!!
The canned catfood that I bought will last three weeks but the dry only a week (if that). I'm not worrying about that until the next time I need to pop to the shops.
Dinner is on - paprika chicken that was cooked on This Morning (yesterday). I hope that it tastes nice.
Out tomorrow with the girlies from work - w00t!0 -

I was weak today! When I returned home from lunch with the work girlies (I only spent £11.20 on main, pud and two drinks) I found that Boden sent me a ten pound voucher in the post. Man alive, their stuff is dear! Anyway, I found a work top in the sale section that, with the discount, cost £9.50 with free p&p. It should have been a helluva lot more. I bought it via quidco and got £1.07 cashback so it only cost £8.43 which isn't really **that** much.
My work shoes arrived today as well. Why do delivery men knock on the door when you are about to step into the tub?
I'm going out tonight and I am not to spend more than £15! After today, the purse will be firmly locked!0 -
the good thing is though you are shopping savvy ... using codes etc can deff bring the prices down .... i see your still doing good with the meal planning as well ... well done .... i keep saying i need to try it but i never seem to get it to work right for my household .... cant even manage a nsd .... so your doing great in my book keep it up0

Thanks
I'm getting quite obsessive about codes.
Before I found out about quidco, I bought a load of stuff from Gap but, when I got home, found I had a 30% discount sitting in my inbox so I was really cheeky and returned everything before rebuying it with the voucher! Better in my purse than in their till! haha0
