I speak from experience on this one! I would have thought that it's better for him to know about your debt than just to think you're tight, too!
You are right - I should. I just don't feel ready to. I will when the time is right. At the minute, he knows that I am fretting about the government cutbacks and that I might be out of a job. And, he also knows that he is on more than double what I am. That has never presented an issue tbh. The thing is, when I hit my targets of clearing my OD (April pay day) and CC (July pay day) then I am winning the battle.
I am being a gutless wonder at the min!0 -
I had one of my frozen ready meals for tea and I forgot that it was the god awful chicken casserole I made a few weeks ago
I soooo need to rethink my batch cooking as I can see myself getting fed up with chicken curry (from scratch) and turkey sausage casserole. Hmmm! I don't eat pork or red meat either. I will have a think.
I spent about £8.00 at the supermarket on veggies and stuff for packed lunches.0 -
Today was my first day back at work. I had to buy a few things but I claim them back on expenses tomorrow. One of my colleagues is expecting her second child and she told me that her new nursery fees will be over £1000 every month - OMG! Her fella is only temping (I thought that he was permanent) and she is fretting in case he doesn't find another job. He should do because he is one of those who can talk the talk.
£1000!!!! How can they justify that amount of money?! At the minute, one wage covers nursery and the mortgage - nothing else. I dread to think what their situation will be like when the little 'un arrives.
I need to save, save, save in case I end up losing my job. I am aiming on spending nuffink at all and taking a huge leaf out of one of my friends books. He has a really good job and earns a scary amount but he buys his clothes in charity shops and can fit all of his belongings in a suitcase! Admittedly, he still lives at home. He told me that his bank sucks up to him big time whenever he pops into his branch. Fancy!
Anyway, I read a thread on people who only have a few quid to last until payday and I realised that I don't have much room to complain. I have a couple hundred to last, a freezer full of food and half a tank of petrol so I shall be grand.0 -

I am one of those on that other thread
The thing is, that usually is me
I have noticed that two weeks before payday I want to go mad in the shops and, usually, end up frittering what I have left away. I think that I must ovulate then! haha
Someone else is preggers at work - eek! I am looking at all chairs with an incredibly suspicious manner because there is obviously something in the water.
My cars MOT and service is due in a few weeks and my gas/electricity bill is due in a few days. Skintsville here we come!
Payday in 19 days and counting.0 -
oooooooohhhhhhhhhhh I am struggling this evening. I am hungry and am hankering for a dirty take away BUT they cost a blooming fortune and I have nothing in just as filthy in calories to consume. I have Christmas choccy left but I want something savoury. Hmmmm. I have marked today as an NSD and I'm not changing it so I shall have beans on toast or something equally as dull.
I was meant to draw my spends out of the bank today but a poor man was killed on the mainroad near work this morning and I just wanted to get home.
Oh yeah, I had a couple hours holiday pay from my temping second job that landed in my bank account. It was only 20 quid but it will go towards the dreaded service and MOT and gas/leccy bill.
Oh s0d it. Where is my coat??!
(my money is on the chippy being shut)
ended up with pizza and the window cleaner wanted paying so I need to amend my sig
been thinking about my spends from the ATM. I budgeted for £80 but I'm not going to draw it all out. I'm going to draw £30 out tomorrow and nothing until next Friday. I need some bits from the supermarket but nothing else.0 -
Payday in 16 days and counting!
Been an ok weekend. I went to ASDA yesterday and bought two tops and some food for the week for £25. I put my coins in my money boxes and I have five one pound coins to last all week. Well, for most of it anyway.
Chappy came over as well. He is bogged down with work so I cooked tea and we played Monopoly. He won  so then we had a drink or five. Was jolly good fun.
Today is an NSD ~ my 6th of the yearHave a heap of stuff to do and list some things on ebay. I hate listing stuff on ebay.

Even though I have only had four spend day this month, I have managed to spend 60quid in the supermarkets (ASDA, Sainsbury's, Aldi and Home Bargains) this week. My focus for next month is going to be on what I am spending my money on. I mean, I do write shopping lists and I plan ahead but 60quid when I live on my own isn't coolio. If I collect my receipts and analyse them I **should** gain a better understanding and learn something. I hope to god that I do learn something.
My tea tonight was gross. It was lasagne that we made ages ago. It tasted so much nicer fresh :S0 -
payday in nine days and counting!
Had a shoddy few days spending wise but tomorrow is a brand new day! So, far I haven't been to the sandwich shop at lunchtime despite being tempted to numerous times. My car is booked in later this week and I am sh1tting bricks already! eek!0 -
Fingers crossed for the car - they can produce some scary costs :eek:Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0
