NSD number 9 for me today! Hope you are all having a great weekendGrocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
NSD Challenge: October 0/140 -
Didn't quite manage an NSD after all !!!
Did manage to get my note broken up as I got to work, which meant I had change for the bus tomorrow - but the lure of final reductions proved too strong.....
I was supposed to be having pizza tonight - but decided I didn't feel up to prepping and cooking one once I got in (which was around 8:40). And I spotted that the deli staff had a loooaaaddd of pizzas they were reducing - and I was prepared to try it at the right price, even though it wasn't one I'd normally consider buying (sloppy chilli beef). When I spotted the huge pile they were down from £1.50 (special offer) to 99p. A bit later I spotted they were being reduced again, so nipped over to see what too. Still 49p at that point despite the lass saying she'd done 50 (!) of them, so (even though the duty manager - one I get on well with - was in the vicinity) I made a tongue in cheek comment about 'is that the best you can do'Duty manager said they'd be on the way down again in 15 mins or so, so (given we've been told we can't shop when on duty, but I've since been told it's only the HR manager who comes down hard on that) I asked if I'd be allowed to shop for my tea - figured it worth trying as he was aware I'd been called in on short notice. His response was that he could hardly say no when he'd just bought a couple, so about half an hour later I nipped back for one and they were down to 19p :T
I also picked up a pack of 4 ciabattas ([strike]£1[/strike] 25p), a tub of Houmous ([strike]85p[/strike] 9p) and a pack of 4 iced ring doughnuts ([strike]£1.09[/strike] 29p), so that's my pack-up lunch for taking out tomorrow (and lunch for Monday) sorted out too without having to think too hard now I want to be heading to bed or first thing in the morning when I'll be in a rush
So a total spend of 82p (plus 8p change into my sealed pot fund), which wouldn't have been spent had I not gone into work. But I couldn't turn down 3.5 hours o/t, so I don't think that's actually a bad trade off
The pizza wasn't bad either - but definitely spicy enough for my elder son who likes things 'hotter' than me....Cheryl0 -
NSD 6 & 7 for me, Thursday and today (I think, not been on here for a while but I know I have 2 unreported!) Yesterday was a fairly small spend day, I spent £10 on a night out (I was quite careful with my spending so I was proud it was just £10).Thank you competition posters!

OMG Nicca - I think if I walked into a toilet like that I'd be running for the hills (or deff thinking I'd had one too many mulled wines!) :rotfl:
I think the 82p spends are allowable Cheryl, given that I'm pretty sure you earned more than that during your O/T - though i do wonder where on earth you keep all your Whoopsies - sure you don't have the Tardis tucked away in your fridge too? :rotfl:
I'm seeing all these lovely NSDs rolling in from everyone and deff feel I've fallen off the wagon a [STRIKE]bit[/STRIKE] lot this month - feeling a bit blue about it, although I think there is still a chance to meet my target but it will be the lowest I've done since I started this challenge.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

But I have some yoghurts in there need eating, so will have to have those for snacks/supper over the next few days which will clear a small amount of space. I also still have one of the 2kg bags of cheese I got from work in there (still sealed) which needs splitting up and putting into the freezers (and I may have space now, as I took a pint of milk out of there this morning)Cheryl0 -
