Good morning everyone :hello:
Yes, Spoon, I've been here for months and never thought to click on the "more" button under the smilies..............now that I've found them though I'll be taking advantage  :rotfl:
OH got home ok last night, he's having to go back down on Monday till Thursday ( he was supposed to be on hols from Monday) but it's extra money and thats always handy;)
Today we are taking doglet to the grooming parlour for his Christmas hairdo, so while he's in there we'll go for a coffee :coffee::coffee: and I need one or two things - a couple of birthday cards and some chocs for a birthday present :bdaycake: Hopefully this will not come out of my purse;) I have some vouchers to use so that will help!
Have I overdone it a tad with the smilies? I'll get my coat...........:rotfl:
Have a lovely day everyone:)

Not been on for a couple of days and it's not been nsd for me at all.
Darling Daughter who is 26 split from her bf of 9 years last week only to find out that she is pregnant with their 2nd child yesterday. Emotions are running high because I'm seriously worried she'll get back with him. The reason she'd left him was because he'd crossed the line from being an a*shole into being a violent !!!!!!. Fingers crossed that the hormones don't kick in and let her change her mind.
I guess chocolate is an essential spend for me at the moment.0 -
((hugs))
As someone who was with a violent !!!!!! for a while I have to say all you can do is be there for her whatever (like my parents were for me, but be careful you don't seem to judgemental of him as 'mine' stopped me seeing my parents because of that) - but I hope she finds the strength to stay away. I only found the strength to leave when he threatened to throw my DD (then 4.5 months old) out of an upstairs window because she wouldn't stop crying. (At the time she was teething, and it was his yelling at me that had woken her in the first place. I managed to calm her down enough that he went back to bed/sleep, and I was then able to creep out and get a taxi to my parents place - which my Mum then had to pay for as I'd no money. Guess I was lucky she was home when I got there)
I didn't find out until about 12 months later that DD had been put on the 'child at risk' list because of him (and all the bruises and cigarette burns I regularly had) Fortunately my Health Visitor knew my family well (she was the Health Visitor responsible for all the foster children my parents had looked after for years), so as soon as she realised I was back with my parents and had no intention whatsoever of going back to 'him' she started the procedures to take DD off the list again (I only realised this had been the case 'cos she let something slip in a conversation which I picked up on and quizzed her about)Cheryl0 -
Oh Moneypenny - what a horrible situation. I would say chocolate and wine (for you obviously not DD) would be essentials just now. I hope that your daughter can see through and make the right decisions for her and her kiddies.
Well I havent been on for a few days but Thursday and Friday were both spendy days. Made it through to Glasgow on Thursday and bought coffees for mum and myself plus 3 more fleecey pj's for DS and some cosy socks and more gloves. Yesterday I nipped into town and got a bit more tinsel and put up my decs and got some 'nice' biscuits for any visitors I may get in the next couple of weeks (friend already coming to visit on Monday so they will be opened then - must be strong and not eat my way through the box after she leaves :rotfl:) also went for hot choc with said friend so a nice but spendy day was had.
Hoping for NSD's today and tomorrow but will see what the day has instore. Tomorrow is gym day (not included in challenge) and my work's kid's xmas party. Bit late as its 4-5.30 but I shouldnt complain as its very good of them to put a party on - dont know many other employers who do the same.
Hope everyone is wellEmma

And I can report that thanks to tomorrow, I'm now into double figures with 10 NSDs in total and 10 NSDs in a row! At some point this weekend I need to do a really big spend though (food shop and everything else I've been putting off), so either today or tomorrow I'll definately break my run.

:j I can report yesterday was NSD #4 whooo! OH had his works xmas do so was paying taxi for that last nigtht, was tempted to get mum's xmas present but decided to save the NSD and do it all today. Seem to have done a fair amount of my Xmas shopping online this year, the present for my bruv (beer bottle recycled into goblets, and vinyl records made into drinks coasters) arrived yesterday - both pretty cool. After mum's my xmas shopping will be done except for OH, who so far had two jumpers and ended up wearing one last night - so the tree is pretty sparse where he's concerned and I really don't know what to get him....
Good luck with the pj hunt Cheryl.
I seem to have a list of 101 things to try and do over the weekend and no real plan of when to get any of them done - which is very unlike me indeed.....perhaps another cuppa while I ponder...Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Just back from shops, I did spend after all!
cat litter and tray liners for the little darling - £19 in total. This was 2 x 20ltrs of Cat$an @ 2 for £14 and 2 packs of liners at 2 for £5 OH paid for this though!
2 posh steak & ale pies for dinner tomorrow, 2 massive cream scones for face stuffing later, some pain au chocolats and pain au raisins for the freezer for breakfasts over the Festive and a birthday card. £10.97
Then I bought 2 boxes of chocs for gifts that I needed for gifts, got them half price at the coop.
:grouphug: to Moneypenny - you must be so worried about DD, I'm sending positive vibes for a happy outcome. Thanks for sharing you story Cheryl ((hugs)) to you too. I had many years with exOH who wasconsistently verbally abusive and occasionally physically abusive and it aint fun.( He was a policeman too:o) Its not till you step away from the situation that you can get some perspective and you realise that life doesnt have to be like that. I hope that's the case for your DD.
