  • Moneypenny/CW/Jinty - what a load of gits there are out there! And I thought I had some rough times in my life.....Well done to CW and Jinty who have come through the bad times and are back in the light once more. Moneypenny - this particular git could not possibly be a good dad because good dads do not abuse or undermine their partners in front of the children, and if your DD does not give him his P45 for once and for all then there are going to be two potentially very damaged children growing up....fingers, toes and everything crossed that she will do what is right.

Sadly it's not looking likely that she will do the right thing at the mo. In fact the whole day has been given over to arguments and him having a go at her. I'm too exhuasted to think. Upside is a nsd for me

Moneypenny, it is very wearing when family members seem hellbent on self destruction. Hard as it is, you can only stand and watch events unfold and hope and pray that she sees the light. If not, then be prepared to pick up the pieces when the time comes. But don't let all this grind you down - you need to be strong and well yourself in order to be able to help others. Sending positive vibes your way now....

I'm totally pooped...... heaven only knows why I thought wearing my boots with 3" heels (chunky ones, not spindly things) would be a good idea for a day out walking around a City Centre - especially when I don't wear heels other than for a meal out with no/little walking needed to get there and back !!!!

Had a great time meeting forum friends (from another forum) along with a couple of OHs and 4 little 'uns :) But it did mean today wasn't an NSD which I already knew it wasn't going to be but wasn't sure how much damage I'd do..... think I was remarkably restrained though :)

£4.10 bus fare (daily ticket bought on a 9:32am bus) was followed by a £10 spend at the opticians when I had my sight test and ordered my new specs (decided to have the optional extra of digital retinal photography - and as I have a tax credit exemption until the end of next June it was the only thing I had to pay for)

Had met a couple of peeps briefly between arriving in the the city and my appt, and then went back to meet the others who had arrived for the offical meet time. We then had a brief wander around a funfair (old style carousel being ridden by one forum member with the OH of another) before heading off to the Christmas market.

Almost as soon as we got there the others decided to stop for a drink and something to eat (I'd taken a packed lunch, partly as an MSE move and partly 'cos I know there's very little at the market I'll eat), so I nipped off to P/mark on my PJ hunt - and came away with two non-seasonal pairs of fleece PJs, which are 2 sizes down on my current ones and have rounded neck-lines so no more shoulder exposure with a bit of luck :D Best bit was that they were only £6/pair - and the best I'd seen to date were at Mr A for £10/pair (so the saving on the PJs just about covered my bus fare :))

Having got my PJs I went back to the Christmas market to hunt the others down again (had taken the mobile number of one of the others with me just in case I couldn't find them), and soon caught them up without any problem. By about 3:20 I'd had about as much of being on my feet as I could take, and still wanted to hit a couple of stores before I came home (in the hope I'd find some ideas for a seasonal pressie for my Mum - but I didn't :() - and I was also getting to the point I needed to make a move because of the mutt being home alone. I did nip into H0me Bargains while waiting for the bus though, and managed to spend £5.10 on 2 packs of freezer bags, a mug for soup (more of a bowl shape than a normal mug, and as I like soup at this time of year I thought it could be very useful for lunches before work when I find I'm likely to spill soup eaten from a bowl with a spoon due to being in a rush ;)), a set of 3 measuiring jugs (different sizes, and the markings are coloured so I can read them while putting hot liquids into them - unlike the ones I have now), a tin of cappucino cream wafer straws (love these and haven't had them for years, so as I'm not buying the 'normal' Christmas chocs I decided to treat myself to these instead), and a Chunky KitK@t Caramel (which was very tasty on the 4:35pm bus home :))

The mutt was very pleased to see me when I walked through the door at about 5:45pm - by which time I'd been out for 8.5hrs

:( Gonna have to take PJs back when I go to collect my new specs in a couple of weeks, 'cos they're too big :(

Got the smallest PM do in the ladies section as well (8-10, my old ones are 12-14). The legs are at least an inch too long and the sleeves are a good couple of inches longer than I'd like (not ideal when I tend to wash up before getting dressed) - both of which are a hassle, but can be lived with. But the trousers aren't going to stay up for long, and these don't have a 'draw string' like my old ones - just fairly narrow elastic :(

Not sure what to do now - beginning to look as if I'm going to have to try the kids sections (the age 13 at PM should fit according to their sizing table on their website), but I don't really want Pepp@ Pig or Tinker-bell or HSM which seemed to be the kind of designs they had at Mr A......
