Combat the Christmas Crush with the NSD challenge

Well my parents and I are supposed to be taking DS to Glasgow on Thursday to take DS to a grotto (one that needed booked) and then to Xscape but judging by all the weather reports (and my fac3b00k friends) its not looking good. Three people I know had to turn back as the weather was so bad.
I need to do my scout post cards today and that will make it a spendy day so will prob make the most of it and buy my xmas stamps aswell. Have a good day y'all
I'm very close to xcape and there were no busses running in that direction today. The trains are running though so you can get to Glasgow and could then get to Cardonald station.
My work base is in that vicinity, so we should be getting regular updates on the bus routes, so I'll let you know if it improves. But I wouldn't advise driving it at the moment; it's still quite chaotic, with cars abandoned all over the place and the cars that were driving were slipping and wheel-spinnning all over the place today. Walking was quicker!
I was so close to an NSD but then remembered I've no fresh food or veg and didn't fancy just pasta or just rice or just lentils... so nipped into a shop as I walked home and got myself a gourmet meal; beans on toast. Mmmmmmmmmm!
(Oh for goodness sake.... news just on, headline; "the blame game begins.". Don't you just hate the need society has to place blame? How could the gritters possible get to the roads when rush hour had already started and the roads were already blocked? Would you really want the schools to send your childen into busses they know are sliding all over the place? Surely it's safer they stayed at school? Icould rant on... Grrr!)Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Oh, some of my post has disappeared! MSE must have thought I was rambling on too much! :rotfl:
3Dogs try your mam with jellies, if she likes them. They can be good for dry mouth. Also ask what the policy is on mouth swabs. Some palces will use them, some won't. They basically cleanse the mouth and keep it moist. Not everywhere will use them in case patients bite down on them, but they can be great for keeping the mouth moist. And also use plenty vaseline around the lips to lock in the moisture and stop the lips from cracking - if your mam likes vaseline (I hate the stuff on my lips!).
Jinty I feel your pain re. bosses. Yesterday we were advised to continue home visits in 2s!!!! (And right now Alex Salmond is having to defend why "he got it wrong" and Scotland was "taken by surprise".) Yet the two teirs above us (I'm community services, so above us is specialist services and senior management) were sent home.:mad::mad:
