Just seen your post anguk, I didn't realise Boyes had spread so far afield!
Yes they've managed to spread up here and I love the shop, especially the kitchen section, they seem to sell all the useful little things that are hard to find or expensive in other shops.

I have DOZENS of these lock n lock boxes. They are amazing FAB

I got the first ones from qvc and added locally and from lakeland. You should see my pantry, cupboard under the stairs. My dh put rows of 4" deep shelves up on the side opposite the door and also the short side and all my dried goods are stored in lock n lock on these shelves

My flour bags are kept in them as well as candles etc

I gave my two dd`s some and they are getting a collection together. They don`t leak and my dh takes soup to work in one. I could go on and on
  • I bought a set from QVC when we moved here just over 2 years ago. They are fantastic and stay locked and solid, even when they've been in the microwave. I haven't seen any of the real ones any cheaper than those on QVC, although there are plenty of cheap alternatives. Don't think they'd last as well though. S'pose it's a bit like Tupperware used to be - I still use some that I bought about 25 years ago!

I bought lock and lock from QVC and think they are brtillkiant. I have tried cheaper versions and found they are rubbish;ie lids really difficult to close or go funny in dishwasher.
I have only otherwise seen L and L in John Lewis and am gradually building a collection by buying them singulary from there.

I LOVE my Lock and Lock containers and they are just so handy! They're ideal for travelling and camping and everything else that you can think of..... I get mine from Lakeland (we don't get QVC as we don't have Sky/digital), but it keeps me amused for hours. I'm slowly beginning to convert some friends :D

I ordered these last week too.

The price was so good and I love Lock'n'lock that I figured even though some of them aren't what I would have bought individually it was still a bargain for me.

Also - I do tend to find uses for those teeny tiny guys. Useful for kids bits and pieces as well as food.

I wanted the green ones but they were sold out - I'm bbeginning to think the pink ones might have been a mistake, DS is not into pink at the moment.

Lock and Lock are brilliant. I have loads of them, and have found that Lakeland has the most overwhelming selection of shapes and sizes.

I don't find all the shapes and sizes useful.

Here's what I found most useful in our house.

    From this page: http://www.lakelandlimited.co.uk/product.aspx/!2355_3346_2379_2378_2483
    (A) for spaghetti
    (B) 870ml storing other less bulky food
    (C) 1.8L for storing bags of flour, storing rice, biggish bags of dried fruit etc. This (for me) is the most useful general purpose storage size.
Personally I'm not too keen on the flat storage, although I guuess they would be good for sanwiches etc, and maybe freezing (depends how you freeze)

I found the cereal dispenser surprisingly good. We use one for cereals and another for rice, as we eat LOADS of rice http://www.lakelandlimited.co.uk/product.aspx/!10341 (There is a seller on Ebay who sells this, including ostage, for very slightly less than Lakeland)

    From this page http://www.lakelandlimited.co.uk/product.aspx/!2597_2474_2475_2663_2479_2384_2482
I find (A) (B) and (C) very handy for freezing stuff, and storing stuff in the fridge (G) is very good if you have a lot of bulkj stuff, or lots of bread, to store.

    Fron this one http://www.lakelandlimited.co.uk/product.aspx/!3345_5489_2480_5441
    (C) and (D) are good useful sizes. Again, I don't personally use the very flat storage boxes so can't comment

There are several other pages as well which you can find if you just search for "lock lock" on their website.

I've tried the divided containers, for me, not much use

I have a cake store because and think its great

I use the fridge jug for keeping water chilled. It's fairly small, about 2 pints, but as there is only me who drinks water from the fridge then it works fine.

Don't forget Lakeland offers free postage over a certain amount, and a free gift over £55. They were offering the divided container at one point, which is how I ended up with it.

    Hope that helps
  • I wish I wasn't cutting back cos I would have loved to order that set from QVC - it was fantastic value, the last 4 piece set I bought from Waitrose was £14. The small ones are very handy too for lunches etc.

I swear by my lock and lock, like others I have tried cheaper alternatives and they leak! I use a lock and lock (round bowl sized) to take soup to work in - yes I put it in the bag with my laptop! Then at lunchtime I just loosen the lid and put it in the microwave. Couldn't recommend it more highly - my Mum thinks its just expensive tupperware - how wrong she is.
The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j

If you live in/near Liverpool Taskers DIY store sell Lock 'n' Lock ;) Don't know about the prices though. Last time I checked I priced up buying exactly the same as a set on QVC and it worked out more expensive, but then if you only want certain ones it's got to work out cheaper than buy whole sets from QVC just to get 1 or 2 items ;)

You will deffinetly like the stacking aspect, it makes things so easy and organised.

I havn't got lock n lock I've got tubbits which are cheaper and not airtight, but they are not surposed to be either.

    I'd recommend anything which stacks.
