  • After reading all the replies on here i decided to buy the big container from Lakeland to store my HM bread and i just wanted to say it is fab. It has kept bread fresh for so long, we have all been really impressed.

    thanks for the recommendation

just need to work out whether i can afford one of those packs off qvc
  • Just thought i would let you all know that there will be a QVC lock and Lock show on Thurs 23 Nov at 9pm so might be worth seeing what offers they have then.

  • Oh goodness, I am so glad to hear that there are other people out there who are as fanatical about lock & lock as me. It's great. It's the only type of plastic storage box I have ever had where I will happily throw a liquid-filled box in my handbag with my phone, etc.

Plus, they don't warp. I got into it about 3 years ago. I have never had plastic boxes last that long before. They've been in and out of the freezer (don't have a microwave). The only one I've ever managed to break and been in the freezer for weeks and I managed to drop it from a great height onto a slate floor. I don't think I can blame it for cracking under that kind of test!

My husband teases me that, whilst other women love shoes, I love lock & lock. Goodness, I'm sad.

I love these containers and use them for everything.
I also keep them in a cupboard with there lids on aslong as the are dry I have never found it to be a problem with smell, not thst they sit on the shelf for long.

The best thing for me about these boxes, is that my OH can GET THE LID ON!!!!
I have used tupperware for years, but I have lost count of the times I've gone to the fridge and ended up covered in juice from butterbeans, peas, pineapple etc because the lids weren't shut properly. With these there's no excuse!
I have some lock'n'lock and Wilkinsons, and although they may seem expensive, to me they are worth every penny,:T because they are MANageable!

  • I started this thread off when I had ordered some of the box sets off QVC when they were a Today's Special Value, but I sent them back because there weren't enough large containers for me, however I was impressed by them and really want to get some to store flour, sugar and the like. Can anyone tell me what size I need to buy to store 3lb flour, 3lb sugar etc? On the Lakeland site capacity is listed as litres and I have no idea how to covert this!

We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

Have just been through my cupboard and found that I have what would seem to be a version of lock and lock but by Tesco. This one although says airtight, does leak.
Thought I'd tell people so that you don't buy it and are then disappointed

  • Viv, thank you for being a mind reader! I'd seen the ones in Tesco and was going to ask if they're any good.

Penny goes off to find Lakeland website to put in an order...........
