My OH took her mum to look at one and said it was fantastic so I went along that evening, peering in the windows and wiggling my fingers through the letterbox:D
I said, let's put an offer in so we did and it was accepted just 2 days after going on the market. We had already accepted an offer on ours.
OMG I did this once on a rented property. Lived their very happily for 6 years, but it was never ours.
Please tell me you have managed to get back for more than a wriggle through the letterbox !0 -

Manchester_Lucy wrote:Our AST is rolling at the moment to the 3rd of each month too. If we don't get def dates quickly we can't hand in our notice in November and then we can't do it the next month as we would be moving around Xmas and we need carpets etc doing so it would then have to be January at the earliest! _pale_
Nice to find you again. Lost track of where you were in the whole process.
We signed contracts today and although I am not sure when we will exchange exactly, our sol said he was confident that we could complete in November so we are handing in our notice before next Friday. (I have had letter typed and ready since 6 October!)
Hope you get dates soon. Any idea who / what is holding you up at the mo ?0 -

you go in a few days before exchange to sign everything, it is only exchange when the solicitors agree to send esch other the signed contracts, deposits etc.
I rang my solicitors (who are great) and he says that the estate agent error will be why he has had nothing on the purchase yet, but the sale of ours is rolling along nicely. No reason why we shouldnt make 8th December target. Nearly dropped the phone in shock - so used to them saying no. Followed up the fax to the estate agents with a phone call, oh that she said - not so much as an apology! I for one will never use Halifax EA Leicester.
Anyway my solicitor cant do anything till he has the notification of sale from the estate agency so I faxed him my copy and he is going to send it out asap. They do searches without payment up front and he will send those as soon as I return the buyers pack.
Sent mortgage application yesterday so everything is rolling along nicely, they reckon four weeks for an offer though.
Just waiting to hear about when they want to come and do the survey on mine.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

I was actually quite surprised that the contract we signed was just two pages long - so no big contract !
We have received numerous packages from our solicitor which included lease pack, fixture and fixtures etc. Perhaps that is what your sol means. Probably best just to phone up and ask.0 -

Gaaaaaah, now not only have we got to wait until Januay for a completion date, today we received the purchasers environmental search stating that our house is built 25 m from a landfill and asking lots of questions about guarantees etc - will this put her off????????? and then we find there is an error on the deeds to our house which needs rectifying before the contract can be drawn up!! What seemed like a very smooth transaction one week ago is slowly turning into a total mare!0

Mascaraminx, those landfill ones are quite commonly inaccurate in that they were landfill years ago, sid this come up when you bought?Pawpurrs x0
