Lotta_Littlies wrote:No exchange for us today after all. Despite being told everyone in the chain had confirmed they wanted to exchange today to their solicitor's, it actually turns out that our buyers solicitor's can't get in touch with our buyers for their go ahead despite trying since this morning (hmmm). I'm sitting here in tears wondering what on earth is going to happen next before it's all over with (if that happens at all in fact).
Lotta
This happened to me just over a week ago - got all excited that would exchange on the Fri and didn't. Then nothing on the Monday and got angry/frustrated/stressed... but we did exchange on the Tuesday (last week - yipee). It is such a relief to exchange as you then have a concrete date of completion to work towards, so I know how you must feel.
Fingers crossed that it happens in next few days. It's amazing though how elusive these sols seem to be - surely it can't be Mission Impossible to contact someone by phone?????!:huh:0 -
Would love a brandy but can't drink alcohol at the moment
Perhaps some kind soul would have a drink on my behalf tonight?
Let's see if tomorrow will be fifth time lucky for exchange? Somehow I won't be holding my breath.
Roma, did you have any luck today?

Hi everyone!
I haven't been around much last week. Had the WORST week in my history of housebuying... Burst into tears 3X last week on various days. It was THAT bad! But I won't go into it. Our vendor's solicitor is just not replying to outstanding queries. Our mortgage broker has now taken over negotiating everything on our behalf and he seems to have managed to talk to everyone involved and subject to all the documentation the vendor's solicitor says they will produced, we are exchanging this Friday! Well, I'm not getting my hopes up but at least things seem to be happening at last.
Dkny, now that all your searches are back, your solicitor will prepare a report for you and raise any enquiries there should be. Be warned though, it could take a while (cos solicitors give one another a 5-day turnaround!). Our searches have been back for about 3 weeks and last week I was close to breakdown as no one could tell me when we are exchanging or what the hell was going on! Good luck though!
To who those who have exchanged, congratulations! It's now the race to the final finishing line for you all! For those who have had hiccups, don't worry, it happens to the best of us all. Happened to us last week so fingers crossed that once you get a 'worst week ever', you won't get another one! :rotfl:

we are in the same situation as we have to give 1 month's notice to our rented flat and would like a bit of overlapping to move things but not much... a week will be enough!
We don't want to give notice until we have a confirmed date from our sols since everything can go to pots until we exchange and then we will be homeless!
We just got our chancel search back and we are waiting on the LA search, which was requested online a week ago. Our sols has also sent some queries to vendors sols yesterday so hopefully they will reply quickly and once we have reply to enquiries and LA search back we can exchange and complete!
There is hoping....
Sounds like everything is goin smoothly, good luck !!
Know what u mean about rent, better till we get some firm dates as we have not been told of any yet... and dont just wanna hand in the notice as we wont have anywhere else either..
Good luck keep us updatedCompleted House Purchase And LOVIN' IT:D

Sorry to hear that, felt like we were the only ones getting the silent treatment from ours, gets so annoying, ive had my fair share of tears since this whole house buying process began, it can get you really down at times, but hey on a brighter note hopefully you will be exchanging this friday, wish you loads of luck and please keep us updated

Thanks for the advice, sounds alot clearer what will be happening next , though am not looking forward to it if its another couple of weeks silence, our solictors and the buyers solictors do not give anything away so it can be quite frustrating and annoying, the only ones that do give us updates are our EAs can u belive it the EAs lol

Roma, fingers crossed exchange happens for both of us today. Know what you mean about the pacing. My carpet's worn where I've been walking the same path!
