Light snow falling here in the Peak Dustrict at the moment. There seems to be quite a bit more on the hills now. I could see car headlights on the Snake Pass when I got up at 6.30 but it's all white now.
.
I said this morning there was no snow , within 5 mins it had started to chuck it down a good couple of inches with more forecast for later  at least i have tried out my new shoe grips for the ice and snow they work really well :T
not sure whats for tea yet - freezer roulette i think0 -

Hello all
Well back from the Big Smoke to -10C here yesterday afternoon. Got all ready for snuggling up with the dog and went next door to my parents'....
To find my 76 yr old father with a HUGE swollen knee and foot and a slightly swollen calf. So, off to A & E we went on icy roads, and arrived at 8pm. We left at 2am, with another appointment for this morning. Oh yes, and through all of this, my big sister was unavailable, as she doesn't want anyone to know her mobile number and she's just moved so hasn't got a landline, so mum was unable to contact her :mad::mad: I am furious with her - what if something had happened over the weekend?!!??
Up today after 4.5 hours sleep and back to the DVT clinic where they can find nothing wrong and have made another appointment for next week. It snowed and snowed and snowed here in the Peak District (Thirzar; I can't be that from you either, we're about 4 miles from Bamford!)
So, I have got the sum total of nothing done apart from posting some eBay stuff that I'd forgotten about; I didn't even have anything to eat from yesterday morning until this afternoon  The house is a bomb site and there are no clean clothes aywhere.
So, tonight, it's increasing the heating in the house, mum's making dinner and I'm slobbing on the settee; dad did take me to Waitrose on the way home as a treat and let me go mad :rotfl: so I've got food galore and will not be leaving the valley in the near future!
Hope everyone's ok and staying warm in this weather. Hugs to all that need them xxx0 -
Hi all
Cold here too, no more snow though. Managed to get the car out and get to work, some not so lucky and had a day off!! Made me laugh as some of the children didn't come in as the snow was bad, they walk and live at the most half a mile away!!
Took big car for MOT today and it was a fantastic failure. I knew it needed new tyres and windscreen wipers and there is some sort of cover for the drive shaft that needs doing. I suppose it's not that bad, could be worse. The garage did take the other car away and managed to get the wheel off but the tyre needs replacing. It was running so the battery has been charged and they will fix them both tomorrow. The only problem is that both cars are at the garage and I am one woman!! May need to call in some favours for a lift.
Dazi I love the hat but had to laugh at the washing instructions of wipe clean only?
Welcome to Joeck.
Had home made soup for lunch (lentil) which was just what was needed in this weather and will have stir fry veg for tea, seem to have an overlaod of veggies in the fridge so better use them before they go off. Washing on the rack by the log burner so that should be dry later. Just going to fix the handle on my lunch bag, the strap has come unstitched and I think I should be able to fix that.
Keep warm and safe everyone, take care. XX0 -
