ubamother and lola, where are you with all that snow? sounds horrific, it's only november!
We're up North - a few miles from Middlesbrough, I now have both DS's off school as the schools are shut, DS1 was about to go and get the bus when the local website updated and his school was on there, DS2 we walked to school then found it was shut when we got there- the first time ever, but is is deep, DS2 was crying as it was getting into the tops of his wellies -its knee high (to a 7 year old- anyway) wasn't this bad last year.0 -
I could see car headlights on the Snake Pass when I got up at 6.30 but it's all white now.
:eek: Blimey they're brave, not sure I'd want to go driving up there with ice, snow etc.
Morning my lovelies
No snow here yet (damn) but supposed to get light snow tomorrow. Sky is full of something. Definately feels warmer this morning so that's a bonus!
Plans for today are to go and do some Xmas shopping. Anything that happens after that will be a bonus
Tea - no idea
Sorry bit of an OS fraud today. However on the MSE front we have a string of berry lights from Woolies that must be at least 10 years old. Plugged them in, not working. Every year it's the same <rollseyes> anyway H sat and changed each single bulb and got to the last one and they came on. So saved me having to buy some more for another year. I think these are the oldest Xmas lights I've ever had :T:T
Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.
Try and check back in later - got to rush off now.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

morning!
I'm back after my weekend away with Taplord. we went shopping to Telford and to the pigeon show there.
Got back yesterday afternoon, DS and his girlfriend held the fort and it was nice to come back to a tidy house(thanks to her I think as he's not usually tidy:D)
Still got somew more to get. Am supposed to be going on a trip tomorrow with Mum to Street to the Clarkes shopping village - so am hoping the snow keeps away for us as am looking forward to it.
Got an aching back - will take some ibuprofen and see how that does.
No snow here:j(dont want any) DH back to work tomorrow on his milkround - no fun in the winter.
DS2 is doing some extra hours at Morrisons this week so need to pop him to work later.
OS - lots of washing/ironing to get through and some tidying and decluttering.
Not sure about tea- need to talk to the others.
Redruby - birds all fed and watered!:)
JackieG - good luck getting your car out!
Halight - hope the little one feels better later x
(((hugs))) to those feeling poorly

Morning all,
Its just started to snow slightly,& the sky has changed from being clear and blue to grey,so think its on its way.The temp has gone up about 3 deg too.
OS- leftover chicken for tea, with l.o apple crumble, then I can use the carcass for some soup .I've also got some roasted butternut squash from yesterday to turn into soup too.
I need to finish making my cards-being ill for 2 weeks has messed up my schedule, usually like to have them made and written for the 1st Dec.I also have a top almost finished, but I think the sleeves are a bit long,so I'll do that if I get chance later.
Take care in the snow & cold.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning
Still no snow! DD is getting thoroughly wound up with all the snow on the news and none here. DS2 is home with a dreadful sounding cough, DS1 got to college alright as luckily this bit of the underground isn't affected by the strike
I have finally caught DH sore throat/runny nose lol - suppose it was bound to happen but never mind, I have lot's of knitting to do so will snuggle up on the sofa and stick on a dvd.
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Hi everyone, I've been a member for over 4 years, but have hardly ever posted, but, after lurking on OS for the last few weeks, and finding so much inspiration (not to mention laughs too) I thought I ought to come out of the shadows and say hello :-)
I'm just the other side of 40, living down south, though originally from 'oop north'. No snow yet, though DD desperately wants it. The house is freezing, so I'm here with my thermals, and fingerless gloves, and a hot water bottle on my lap. Still, at least I'm not shelling out our hard earned cash to British Gas by having the heating on lol.
There's me, my DH, our DD and our animals - 1 adopted cat, 2 gerbils, and lots of tropical fish (think its warmer in their tank than it is here in front of the computer!).
Anyway, desperately want to get out of debt as soon as possible, DH works for 'britains favourite airline' and another strike is looming, so preparing for that, and I've been off work for 18 months, after being assaulted. Soooooo, money is tight, DH has developed an onion skin wallet (makes his eyes water when he opens it), and I'm loving the OS way of cutting back, and living within your means.
Its soup for lunch, made with butternuts from our allotment, which were roasted yesterday whilst I cooked sunday dinner (roast chicken - the remains will make a chicken curry tomorrow). I also made a beef casserole at the same time, so that's waiting to be portioned up and popped in the freezer for later in the week.
Have a nice day everyone, and just wanted to say how much I love reading all your messages, you are a really great, supportive, bunch of people
JoDebts at their highest: £37,500
Hope to be debt free sometime in 2013

That's better, had hoped to be debt free in 2008......didn't happen, but debts are a lot lower, so I guess its progress...Debts at their highest: £37,500

I use a couple of those to warm the bed before getting into it; much safer than hot water bottles if you have dodgy paws!
Sorry, I've missed the daily since Thursday, and if I go back to read, I'll get nowt done today. Anyways, I hope everyone's OK, and keeping warm and safe.:o
It tried to snow here earlier, but I gave it A Look and it thought better of it (sorry Bitsy):rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Had a call from mum earlier, dad had fallen again and could I go and lift him,so I shot up there, walked in his bedroom, and said
'dad you are going to have to stop doing this, you silly old B****r' he roared with laughter :rotfl:, him and I sat on the bed screaming with laughter, bless him, anyway got him back into bed sitting up with a coffee and the paper, he held my hand and said thank you best laugh I have had in ages.
Ok better get some lunch and get little dog over the fields xx0
