  • Morning All,

More snow overnight here too, I am worried about getting the car out of the estate this morning to get the boys to school, and there's no way I am walking and taking a risk with my back - wish me luck :D

OS today depends on whether or not the boys get to school, if they don't I think I'll do some school work with them, then get them to help me sort the playroom in the afternoon, if they go to school I will be gutting and decluttering my bedroom, I want OH to take the tree etc. out of the loft tonight, so that I can check the lights, I am sure I need some new ones - why do I never do it when I put it away? Or leave myself a note, its just a vague recollection atm! Meant to be at the hospital this afternoon but again, that depends on the roads and if the school is closed; the council website is down at the moment so I can't check.

Haggis neeps and tatties for dinner, perfect winter food in my opinion.

Hugs spoons and hi fives all round.

    Morning :hello:

My job has ended. Not sure whether to be :j or :(. I'll miss the money and the people, but I'm glad to get back to my business and OS lifestyle. I won't miss the customers - "I bought a carpet 6 months ago, I'm not paying for it til you give me a discount. You've since had a sale and I should only be required to pay the sale price." Not sure how that slipped through TBH, we don't let the carpet leave the warehouse til the customer has paid in full. Another one - "The carpet is faulty, I want an inspection. Bits are sticking to it". Mr tru goes to inspect, asks to borrow customer's hoover, the brushes don't spin and there's no suction, tells customer the carpet is fine, but his hoover is broken. "That has nothing to do with it, it's obviously the carpet's fault". :rotfl: Another lady complained about black marks on her stairs, turned out the black rubber from the soles of her slippers was leaving the marks. It must be the carpet, it can't possiby be her slippers, they're from M&S don't you know :D The list goes on.........

So, on to today. Decluttering - I can't wait to get stuck in :D I'll start with the kitchen. The electrics are finally done, now I need to start moving the base units to remove the plaster. I have to get paint off the bricks, not sure how to do that? We're having it re-plastered in a couple of weeks.

The kids haven't been too bad, but their idea of clean is slightly different to mine :D So I'll be dragging the hoover and a duster round with me all day.

I've spent the last few weeks at a desk, I feel all bunched up. I would like to be stretched on a rack but I don't have one of those (maybe I could visit a torture museum and asked to borrow theirs? lol) so a yoga DVD will have to do.

Cold again here but not as cold as it was yesterday. Work for me so I'll set off shortly and hope the roads are clear.

Online shop delivered tonight - hopefully in time for tea!

    Morning everyone

No more snow here yet, but very frosty. I got a new hat yesterday, a bit like this why have all the teenagers kept it quiet as to how warm they are? Not sure it's really me but who cares, it will keep me warm.

Got some soup out of the freezer for my lunch, not sure what it is, think it could be spicy sweet potato and carrot. Only me for tea tonight, and I have leftovers from my Sunday roast......without the peppercorns I may add:rotfl: Am expecting to have to work a bit late tonight so not a lot of OS will be going on.

Take care and keep warm xx

    Hi Everyone

Cold again here but no more snow-forecast for tomorrow but I hope it misses us.

OH gone to work he doesn't usually do Mondays but had to take an unpaid day last week due to carpet fitting mayhem so work have kindly said he can go in today to make it up.

DS needs to get up in a minute to scrape car before he goes to work.

I don't work Monday's normally but may go in today as busy atm.

I will mince yesterday's leftover beef to make cottage pie tonight.

Does anyone know where I can get a wheat bag that you heat up in the microwave?

Ta me babbers(as they say in Bristol).

    Take care

ubamother and lola, where are you with all that snow? sounds horrific, it's only november!
Hi all, no snow, a little front, here on the London/Surrey border. I hope everyone with all the snow is okay. Yesterday a friend of mine was driving from London to Holyhead, to get a ferry then drive from Dublin to NI  Birmingham to Wales alone took about five hours, hope he's actually made it all the way.

I tried using 50:50 instant porridge:oats this morning, but by the time I'd mixed in the boiling water it was already cold! I decided a life without hot breakfast porridge isn't worth living and risked my life to heat it up in our crazy microwave. I'm still alive, and I'm eating hot porridge :D also sitting on my work clothes to warm them up before i get dressed- genius!
After work I've got lots of work to do as usual, will have cheeseless spinach pizza for dinner veryy yummy and an early night.

It's sad to here Leslie Nelson has died. One of my A level maths teachers always used to say "don't call me shirley" it was his crazy catch phrase and people used to act out the scene with him :p

    Morning All

We have snow in West Yorkshire, it's falling on the little bit of snow we woke up to yesterday which didn't go as it was so cold. It doesn't feel quite as cold as it did though.
Pain from sciatica in legs is much better now, although my back is now hurting, but copeable. Off to see the specialist later for scan results.

The cupboards and freezer are well stocked thanks to DH, children at school (hopefully the bus made it)

Take Care if you have to go out.

Light snow falling here in the Peak Dustrict at the moment. There seems to be quite a bit more on the hills now. I could see car headlights on the Snake Pass when I got up at 6.30 but it's all white now.

DH left for work just before the snow started so hope he got there. He did take a rug and his walking boots but refused a flask although I managed to shove a couple of mars bars in the car before he left.

I don't need to go out at all today , thank goodness. We called into Tesco on the way home from church yesterday and got a couple of bags of shopping-we were on foot. Both freezers are full and we have veg in the garage(I'm sure I'll think of something vital that I've run out of soon).

If I can drag myself away from the computer I'll get on with some housework and make some lentil soup for lunch. There are a couple of bacon rashers in the fridge so I'll get two lamb chops and sausages out of the freezer and do a mixed grill for dinner.
