yep, even worse today! My sister spent 2 hours digging our car out so she could go and do some food shopping, ended up with 2 neighbours helping her... this weather really brings out the best in some people doesn't it? (and the worst in others, but let's not go there...) love the community spirit in my street right now, there's a couple of neighbours going down the street with shovels clearing peoples paths for them
Worried about her though because she's gone to Dundee of all places, from what I'm hearing it's even worse there!
I'm staying warm and safe indoors, that's for sure! x0 -

she'll be fine, the gritters and snow ploughs are doing a grand job here, it's the side streets that are pretty messed up.
I walked to work yesterday, as soon as I was out onto the main road it was driveable, the snow plough hadn't been past our house though, so I thought it better to walk.
what I didn't know was 10 minutes after I left the snow plough went past and cleared the road again, so I walked all that way to work when I could have waited and taken the car.:rotfl: Hubby was able to take the car out and get some essentials in though, so it wasn't all bad.:DMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Oh no you can keep your OVD, thats what hubby drinks and its 'bowfin', the only time I use this is when I make a clootie dumpling on hogmany. Southern Comfort would be grand!
Still struggling with the roads here, hope you are all cosy and safe.Every days a School day!0 -
I'm not an OVD fan either, not since I took a drink from my Mum's can of coke when we were at Butlin's Ayr way back in the 70s.... they'd obviously smuggled in a carry out and added it to their can of juice - I drank hers thinking it was mine - that of course would be unthinkable these days... no one would ever give their kids a whole tin of full sugar Coke:rotfl:Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

OK so i'm a minority OVD drinker then.... in dundee the schemes are a bit messed up, no buses serving fintry charleston or the technology park where I work. It's getting to the stage I will have to get someone to do my shopping for me
Milk is really low and with 2 kids under 5 and 7 months pregnant I am not attempting to get out my street. Any muttering by me about going to the car gets my parents inlaws and husband telling me to behave and stay where I am and they will get stuff to me. I think i have 2-3 days of meals left too.

Look's like all trains will be off for the weekend. Let's hope thing's improve over the weekend.
A poor woman fell in Ward Rd in Dundee yesterday, banged her head & sadly died. So a BIG reminder to be very careful out there.Booo!!!0 -
Violetta, I read that on the news - she was only 39, the person she was with did CPR but she was later pronounced dead - that really brings it home how dangerous a bit of snow can be._pale_
Lilac Pixie don't you dare go out in the snow.
I know someone who works at Tesco Kingsway, there's a strong rumour deliveries might restart next Tuesday.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
