My name is Ian Philipson I am one of the directors here at Personalised Football Gifts.
We have had a significant number of orders placed on our website this weekend by customers using a £10 discount code AND a 50% off voucher.
Our -50% Voucher was sent to selected customers over the last 6 weeks and clearly states on the reverse side that it can not be used in conjunction with any other offer.
    3. The voucher cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
We have traced the vast majority of these orders back to the Hot UK Deals website and a posting which makes reference to the two discount codes but NO reference to the fact that they can not be used together.
We have written today to all customers who have placed orders using both codes and offered to...
either A) Refund the orders in full
or B) Fulfil the orders in full on payment of the shortfall. ie £4.93p
Furthermore we will P&P all orders FREE of charge to UK destinations
All fulfilled orders will have the discount code of -50%and Free P&P applied.
In the circumstances I do not think that we could do any more.
Perhaps this site could find a way to verify such postings before making them public.
    regards
    Ian Philipson

Hmmm...perhaps Ian Philipson's site could find a way to ensure such orders are not accepted in the first place?? Seems a bit lame to blame others when it is obviously an error on their part!

Vicky might have had a busy day yesterday telling us all to cough up more money :(or contact to cancel.....but today nobody seems to have heard from her. No email to confirm my cancellation request or indeed my refund!

I phoned them today and spoke to a very pleasnt lady. I've decided to pay the extra as they are still worth it. One of the first things that she said was "Oh are you one of the thousands that used 2 voucher codes" and laughed.

I don't think that this is a very big company and they are doing their best to sort this out. It's not like a glitch at Tescos. Tescos can well afford to lose some cash over an internet glitch, small ompanies can't, especially at the moment. They say that some people have got the mugs with free postage and half price and they are letting them have them. Others have received, what I think, is a polite email asking them what they want to do. They are honouring the half price voucher even though it was only supposed to be used by selected customers. It's understandable that they would like people to pay postage in order to get some custom.

I think that this is all getting a little bit nasty now. It was a glitch and we failed. Would people prefer that the company honour both vouchers and go under?

    Rant over. :)
  • I still think many of the items are great value with only 50% off.

Has anybody purchased the Man Utd personalised Story Book? I'm contemplating getting it but wonder if it's worth parting £17.99 for. It can't be used in conjunction with the 50% off either.

    Here's the item: http://www.personalisedfootballgifts.co.uk/manchester-united/personalised-story-book/
