Well I'm back to my old SA, I went to her till and asked what the deal was with the coupons (after my last incident) she said she didn't know, and keeps on getting mixed messages at team meetings.

So she said, just give them over and I'll scan them till the Till tells me to stop! :rotfl: She makes me laugh!

She also gave me 8 green points, when I should only have had 3. She really is lovely.

I did two small shops, and only handed over 2 vouchers totalling 35p, then the second job, totalling £3.00, but the £2.00 was for a product bought and the £1.00 was a pregnancy and birth one received in a boots mailing.

I'm really pleased that she is back to scanning anything! So will arrange my vouchers in order of date and will use around 3-4 at a time :)

Hi, I've never had problems using coupons in Tesco's.

Today I used about £10 of vouchers off a £50 spend and I think he would of taken more if i had any.

I still got my 5p off petrol too which i was worried about.

What we need then is some vouchers for 'bigger' money so if they only take one they cant complain.

  • I had the same problem in my local tesco. They wouldn't take any printed vouchers at all (although they did a few days ago with no problem).

I did look for a young chap to charge my shopping, but looking at over 20 tills all were stationed by middle aged women!

I've had bad experiences for the last two weeks in different tescos: they are not accepting ANY of my cuppons even when I actually bought the product (because it was a cuppon from Sainsburys) what for a fact they used to accept. I've bought 2 Sainsburys magazines with the £11 in cuppons the first one I managed to use all cuppons in Tesco and 2nd one NONE of them have been accepted. And to be honest is quite humiliating have to stop the queue, call a supervisor and being told you can't use your cuppons. Givingup!

Don't give up! This happened to me, just choose an SA who is willing to scan whatever, and always check first, with something like 'I'm not sure these will scan, can you try them for me, please'

I was going to give up too, after feeling very embarassed, but have adopted the attitude of 'nothing ventured, nothing gained!'

This is true. Also you could do the 'well in that case kindly take the items/shopping back off' approach.

Sometime the assistants that look the easiest to deal with are the worst.

Had my Sainsbury's coupons turned down yesterday ... by a young girl ... looked like a student ... gave me a lecture concerning giving their competitors money ... me thinks she will go on to be lawyer!

But last week had loads accepted by so called old hands! .... My Tesco is very 'strict' on rules but i don't think the gist of it is ... the older cashiers tend to take coupons readily ... mabye because its because they don't care/feel begrudged at tesco ... and the younger ones have all just been through their training/brainwashing and are hard and fast ... especially the 'clever' ones ... who I suspect think they are telling these silly unfortunate ladies with sad coupons where to get off! ........ Hee Hee ......

Try with a different SA next week .... chances are its a new recruits agenda .... go for the old hand with a score to settle .... :^)

I'd had the same experience with a young girl SA, so although I avoid the older ladies I've never actually had them turn any coupons down except if the till won't accept them.

I tend to stick to the SAs I know who will take anything, but it does mean I loiter in the aisles waiting for their checkouts to be free because I'm scared the supervisor may direct me to a free till!!!!!
